Children will never be bored on a Neilson Active Holiday. From beach games to sailing and food tasting to windsurfing, the possibilities are endless.

Dinghy Sailing

Our Hot Shots club provide RYA tuition for 8 to 12 year olds. Hot Shots offers a mixture of sailing, windsurfing and shorebased fun. Our Starfish, Sea Urchins,Surfbusters and Sharksters' clubs provide fun for younger children and may also involve some watersports, depending on the ages and wishes of the children.

Children must be 13 years or over before they join the adult sailing programme. There is a selection of dinghies in each resort ideal for children keen to sail. The Laser Funboat is great for first time sailors, with great stability and fool-proof controls. The Laser Pico remains our favourite boat for learning to sail. The Optimist, available only in Porto Heli, is the definitive youth racer, traditionally the first step on the road to success for competitive young sailors.

Windsurfing

Hot Shots provides RYA tuition for 8 to 12 year olds. Our fully qualified instructors help your children master new skills and get first timers confident in no time at all, with RYA Youth Awards available to those who want to improve their skills. If your children are particularly interested in windsurfing they will benefit from choosing a resort specialising in windsurfing such as Dahab or Vassiliki.  Our Starfish, Sea Urchins, Surfbusters and Sharksters' clubs provide fun for other children, which may involve windsurfing for the older ones. Children must be 13 years or over before they can join the adult windsurfing sessions.

Diving

Diving is becoming more and more popular as a family sport. Children as young as 10 can participate in Discover Scuba Diving courses and 12-year-olds can complete diving certification programmes.

Those aged 10 to 11 can join a Discover Scuba Diving course or the PADI Junior Open Water Diver course. Completion of the course will earn them a restricted certification with the following limitations. PADI Junior Open Water Divers aged up to 12 may only dive with a PADI professional or a certified scuba diver parent or guardian and are limited to a depth 12 metres.

Children aged 12 to 15 can earn junior certifications enabling dives to 18m and can dive only when accompanied by a certified adult scuba diver. These courses are performance based and certification will only be gained on completion of all the knowledge and skills sessions, which are exactly the same as the adult PADI Open Water Diver course.

Mountain Biking

Our biking is primarily provided for adults but in some cases, it is possible for children younger than 13 to come exploring by bike too. Our bike guide will help determine whether our bikes and helmets are able to fit your child and will ask that a parent accompanies them when riding. In some cases, this may be one of the guided rides offered by our staff, though it is often more appropriate for families to ride independently, on a route suggested by our bike guides.

Other Activities

The fun isn't just limited to sporting endeavours! We believe in allowing children to make the most of their new surroundings and cultures. With local music, Mediterranean food, new languages and unfamiliar wildlife, our staff will select a range of other activities to keep children stimulated and entertained.
