The sheltered waters and calm conditions make sailing for beginners ideal. Novice or expert waterskiers and wakeboarders can make the most of the flat water throughout the day, with the premium package available for those who are really keen.
Also popular is the option of a pre-breakfast swim over to the island. For the more energetic, there is often a guided bike ride, fitball and stretch and tennis sessions before the sun reaches its height.

One of the most popular activities is to take a kayak and explore the secluded coves surrounding the club. In the afternoon the sailing area extends beyond the island for intermediates to make the most of the breeze further out.

Alternatively, spend the day on one of our day yachts, making the most of the breeze outside the bay and exploring secluded bays further up the coast.

As the sun dips in the sky, informal games of volleyball are organised, either in the pool or on the sand court. For those who prefer a gentler pace there is table tennis, boules or maybe a relaxing massage before a pre-dinner cocktail.

adidas eyewear Triathlon Training Camp

Our annual triathlon training camp will be help at The Retreat from 11th-18th May 2008. There will be expert coaching in swimming, cycling and running, suitable for anyone who loves triathlon or who would like a taste of this growing sport.

Triathlon is now one of the fastest growing sports in the UK as it's easily accessible, hugely rewarding and great fun! Competitors begin with a swim, before a ‘transition’ sees them climbing aboard bikes for the second leg of their race. Then, in a second transition, triathletes don their running shoes for the final stage of the triathlon.

The camp week is aimed at all levels of ability, whether you're training for the 2008 triathlon season, looking at breaking into the sport or simply want to take part in a fun event in the outdoors!

Whatever your reason, the adidas eyewear Triathlon Training Camp is sure to provide an action-packed week.

The week-long training camp has been developed to provide first class training facilities in stunning surroundings with a programme of activities which spells utter bliss for partners and families.

Uniquely, Neilson’s hosting of the event at their Beachplus Club allows less active partners and families to accompany triathletes, relaxing in the beautiful backdrop of Greece’s Ionian coast. Days are split between optional training sessions and the freedom to enjoy Neilson’s Beachplus formula - activities ranging from wakeboarding to tennis, windsurfing to yoga, all included in the holiday at no extra charge.

The camp provides individuals from all levels the opportunity to train like a world class athlete. adidas eyewear have organised an intensive training programme run by elite triathlete Richard Allen with a sports masseur and bike mechanic on hand. The week finishes with a fun race hosted by the local town and its mayor.

The unique six day training programme offered by the adidas eyewear Triathlon Training Camp is available for the price of £625 (plus £35 bike carriage), including flights, transfers, superb accomodation on a club board basis, specialist triathlon coaching and the usual range of Beachplus activities, like sailing, windsurfing, mountain biking, tennis and waterskiing.

For the Triathlete:

• An excellent week-long training programme designed by top UK elite triathlete Richard Allen, suitable for both newcomers and experienced triathletes. Sessions focus on running, swimming, cycling, equipment choice, preparation, diet and the all-important transitions.
• A first rate support team including coaches, a masseur and a mechanic
• The option to reserve the use of a high quality road bike for your week

I went to Sivota for a week a couple of years ago. It was the first week of the season, in May. What a place! Incredibly scenic, with calm waters and a really secluded feel. Mountain biking is my thing, and Sivota has some great routes. I learnt to wakeboard - easy when the water is so flat. The only disappointment was the wind. I would have loved to work on my dodgy intermediate windsurfing skills, but the wind in Sivota is really light. And the village of Sivota is a short walk away - Good for an evening stroll.

Just writing to say a big thank you to all the Neilsen staff at The Retreat, Sivota last week (May 18th-25th). Our first Neilsen holiday and certainly not our last. Everything was fantastic. Special thanks for the sailing team and everyone at the Pool Bar.
