Go Exploring

On non-inclusive evenings take a ten minute walk to the small port of Sivota, where you will find a relaxed, laid back atmosphere and a selection of tavernas, cafés and shops along the waterfront promenade.

Further afield, boat trips are available to Corfu, Paxos and Antipaxos. Paxos is an exquisite miniature world, with quaint 19th century houses lining narrow, cobbled lanes. The smaller island of Antipaxos is equally special with beautiful remote beaches and little coves.

An hour south of Sivota is Parga, bursting with history the impressive 14th century castle reflects the town’s varied history between the Venetians and Ottomans.

Out and About

• Parga and Paxos - Parga is a charming and atmospheric resort. A busy holiday town, with a bustling harbour lined with restaurants, bars and nightspots, while behind is a labyrinth of narrow cobbled alleys lined with traditional red-tiled houses, stretching up to a Venetian fortress. We organise a coach or boat trip to Parga on one of the non-inclusive evenings.

We also run a day trip by boat to Anti Paxos for a swim, then cruising onto Paxos island for a lunch stop and sightseeing and shopping.

• Horse Riding - Experienced riders can enjoy a guided ride through the beautiful Greek countryside following the path of a river and riding across beaches - it is a wonderful rustic experience and a great way to see the local area.

• Car Hire - There are numerous sites of historical and archaeological interest with almost every village in the area boasting one diversion or another. Also well worth a visit are the natural fresh water springs of Acheron where you
can be guided up the gorge experiencing the cool fresh spring water rushing down below you no matter the temperature outside of the leafy shadows.

• Day Sails, Sunset and Champagne Cruises - Take a day sail on a skippered Neilson yacht. Drink in the magical coastline, while relaxing in the warm breeze on deck. Let us sail you to secluded bays where you can swim or snorkel in the crystal clear water. Alternatively, sail into the sunset, sipping champagne as the sun sinks below the horizon; enjoy the romance of the evening on a sunset cruise. This is definitely the climax to a wonderful day.

We were in Sivota between 20th-27th October 2009.
When my husband booked this holiday we had no idea it was an activity break. We booked it 2 weeks before we went it was my birthday present. We go abroad 2-3 times a year and basically chase the sun around the beach. Wow this was fantastic. You dont have to take part in the activities and there is no presure at all so we decided to relax. After 2 days of watching from the beach we had a go at Kayaking. The next day we went on the kayak safari it was brilliant. The staff were fantastic to name a few Eric, Christine, Luke, Elliot, Debbie and the resturant staff were so helpful and friendly. I would not hesitate to return here. The food was Fab and I would recommend this holiday to all our friends but watch out for the hundreds of steps but they are worth it.

Sivota 21 June - 5 July
Great holiday and beautiful setting. A special thanks to the beach team Will, Andy, Ali, Emma, Heather, Simon et al. who were always helpful, provided some great tuition (particularly Andy who had us all up and windsurfing after the first lesson - albeit with less style than we hoped)and they always had a smile in the morning. We didn't see our 12 year old son for the second week after we persuaded him to join the kids club and he's already organising with his new friends to meet up at Sivota again. Waterskiing and wakeboarding were a big hit with our boys and the pontoon team were excellent as well as providing an 8.00 alarm call in the morning. Entertainment from Tommy deserves a mention, providing us with many enjoyable evenings over the 2 weeks - no song request was too challenging although the Michael Jackson tribute came close.
Living in hilly rural Scotland we didn't find the walk to the village very demanding - Hill of Death Hah!
Food was good, service in the restaurant and bar was top spec and we've all come back casting slightly larger shadows than we did when we arrived.
We'll be back.

First Neilson holiday - probably one of the best holidays you can take. Fantastic resort, though be prepared for steps. I was really impressed by the relentless enthusiasm of all the staff. We spent most of our time on the beach, where everyone was friendly and helpful. Special credit has to go to Simon, who led us through all our dinghy sessions, from beginners to winners. Excellent teacher, patient and amusing. Also Andy on the windsurfs, persistently up-beat, pulling us through our course. Thanks to everyone, will see you on the next holiday.
