Turkey - Teos

Beach Plus Holiday with 1 x Star Fish

If you are even considering booking a holiday MAKE YOU SURE BOOK THIS ONE. We really struggle to find anything negative to say about this resort and while we would return to any Neilson resort in a heartbeat we think Teos is the best family holiday we could ever have wished for.

It is set on a hillside and the views are extremely picturesque, in particular from the restaurant. The resort is compact and well thought out and you can get around it quickly and even avoiding steps is easy.

The food is always good and each day the menu changes. There is plenty to suit toddlers in the main buffet restaurant although generally the Nannies gave the children lunch and supper (with great understanding of toddler eating habits and also, thankfully, the patience of saints). My wife especially loved the cheeses and was relieved every day when they reappeared! The kitchen staff really went to town on Gala night and the dessert display was just beyond belief.

The Nannies are clearly lovely girls ( and boys!- so lovely to have male care too) and experienced and compassionate and treated our daughter to a week of sailing, kayaking, ski boat trips, all manner of play (great little playground near the Sea Urchin creche which is great for entertaining them outside of creche hours) and we must say that our daughters' language also came on leaps and bounds! She was really fond of her Nanny Lorna and all the other girls who cared for her. We were really touched that the Nannies made such an effort to commend each child for their individual qualities and contributions at the Prize Giving on the Friday evening; it was a lovely touch and my wife admits to shedding a tear as each child was called up. We were given a little holiday diary at end of the week including our daughter's pictures and handprints- a lovely momento) It is also worth mentioning that they followed the routine we asked of them, and, with a smile!

There was always refrigerated milk available for guests and access to the toys in the creches, and, a well stocked change room by reception, so this also helped all the parents to really relax and feel things were taken care of.

The windsurf kit was immaculate and the structure to the classes during the week allowed my wife to get back on a windsurfer without committing to a week's course. We really went on this holiday to do some wakeboarding and to unwind, but I found myself getting hooked on tennis which was popular with many guests getting involved and the tournament at the end of the week was well supported and rather competitive! Apologies to my doubles partner Marcella who got lumbered with me and carried me to the semi-finals. My wife found this hilarious.

It is worth knowing that the raquets and balls are there and the courts are free from about 12 pm if you fancy a knock around without doing any lessons.

The staff at the hotel couldnt move fast enough to help their guests especially when we arrived lateish on the Saturday night and we had hot wraps and baguettes on our table within minutes. The pool side bar has wonderfully comfy seating and the happy hour kicking off at 5.30pm every day ensured it was a great place to mingle at the end of each day. It was also lovely to chat with the Neilson staff who as always were professional and articulate, and enthusiastic in the right amounts!

There is more we could say but you probably get the gist.

Looking forward to our next holiday already !

My last minute booking to Teos (5-12 Sept) was the result of a mad-moment on a miserable Saturday afternoon. My intended destination of Cornwall for the following Saturday had little appeal considering the cold and dark summer days - so I decided to venture out to Turkey instead. It was my first Nielson holiday and my first travelling alone, so I was a little apprehensive and unsure of what to expect when I got there. There was however absolutely no need to worry, the Teos team made a special effort to get all the single travellers together on the transfer to the hotel - I met a fantastic group of people with whom I shared a lot of laughs and many, many, many bottles of wine!! The hotel, food, accommodation and facilities can not be faulted - but the real stars of the show are the staff who are ever professional and enthusiastic, ensuring that everyone had a good time. Special thanks must go to Ibo, Jen and Matt for their excellent intermediate training sessions in the SB3's - particularly during some high winds on the Monday - an experience never to be forgotten! .... And to Yekta and Yusef in the bar for always ensuring that we had a fresh supply of wine to help soothe the pain of my/our many bruises! All in all it was a fantastic holiday - I hope to have another mad moment next year so that I can return for some more..... Clare

family holiday in Teos July25-aug8th. Just wanted to report what a fantastic holiday we had in Teos. Our 1st time with Nielsons. Staff were incredibly friendly, patient and helpful. Especially good instruction from Amy, Rusty, Ben and jw. Great fitness programme from Lou, childrens clubs were amazing, the energy that those guys have!! Thanks Sally, Henry, Natalie for all your hard work. Glenn was inspired with TAG, I do hope his hair is o.k. now, the tags removed it for him...as a fund raiser for Jakes sail 4 cancer. Really enjoyed the spa and had several treatments, which were needed after a day in a pico. Thankyou so much, we will definitely be back. The Murdochs.
