Go Exploring

A holiday here would not be complete without a trip to the town of Bodrum. Dominated by its massive Crusader castle, Bodrum is the lively centre of local life with hectic quaysides, bustling markets, tourist shops and a wide variety of bars, restaurants and nightclubs. These days the castle holds the Museum of Underwater Archaeology, one of the best of its kind.

Further afield, you can take a day trip to Ephesus, one of the largest and best-preserved cities of the ancient world.

From the hotel, you can wander along the beach to Ortakent Yahsi, which has a small selection of bars and restaurants including one of the most popular seafood restaurants on the peninsula, ideal for non-inclusive nights for those who don’t want to venture too far.

Nearby, the pretty fishing village of Gümüslük provides a delightful venue for lunch or dinner, with restaurants right on the waterfront serving delicious local fish. In contrast, Ortakent’s neighbouring village of Bitez has a lively waterfront promenade with a wide choice of bars and restaurants. Only 1 5 minute taxi ride from the Seaside Hotel, Bitez is a popular choice for non-inclusive nights.

Out and About

• Turkish Baths - Relax in a customary Hammam in the hills above Ortakent. A traditional Turkish Bath is the ultimate cleansing and relaxing treatment. Excursions to the Hammam can be arranged around the activities on offer at the club and additional treatments are available. A trip to Turkey wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the Turkish Bath.

• Ephesus - Take a cultural visit to one of the best-preserved classical sites in Europe. Home to The Temple of Artemis, one of the seven wonders of the world, Ephesus offers an insight into the world of the Romans and their civilisation. The trip also incorporates a stop at St Johns Chapel.

• Boat Trips - A number of boat trips are available from the nearby village of Yashi; traditional Turkish gulet cruises are available for the day so you can soak up the rays and the stunning coastline scenery. Arrive in style by taking a fast boat around to Bodrum town. Alternatively take it easy on a catamaran sailing cruise to a secluded bay for swimming and snorkelling.

Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant. Just came home from a week at The Seaside Hotel. I had so much fun I asked my mum if we can go again. She has just booked for 2 weeks in August. I did sailing, wind surfing, water skiing and lots of other things. Hello to Euan my instructor who was ACE. I want to go there every year.

Absolutely fantastic. Our best holiday ever. The team were brilliant, their enthusiasm was infectious meaning we were busy on the water whenever possible and the hotel staff spoiled us. We'll definitely be back!
