We're back (sadly!) from a truly fantastic week at Teos and just wanted to share how marvellous it was in almost every way possible, also in the hope that someone in the Neilson team will forward this to Pip your Overseas Director as I hope the team gets recognised for its efforts....

I have skied three times with Neilson but had never been to a Beachclub (altho' my older daughter had last year and loved it). I'm no big fan of water-sports so wasn't sure what I'd get out of the week but in the event there was tons for me to do, and I really had to make time in my busy schedule of activities to relax!

Highlights for me were the absolutely superb tennis coaching, both the coaches but especially the truly lovely Matt who put so much passion and commitment into his sessions with the Improvers group and the wonderful Friday "catch-up" clinic which turned out to be less of a catch-up and more of a big step forward for my tennis, for which I am officially Matt's no 1 fan forever more! Also the lovely "Fitness Dan" who puts a lot of effort into his guests' fitness programme and ensuring they get the most out of it, as well as being generally charming and delightful. Having been a gym member for years I'd never done a VO2 max test until I went to Teos, and was really lucky to be able to do this with Dan's (and Peanut's) support. A real revelation and great to know all the exercise is paying off to the extent that I won the "Fittest Woman" certificate for the week! The fitness facilities may not be extensive compared to a gym back home but Dan absolutely gets the most out of them and puts so much cheerful energy into it all.

Also wanted to mention the excellent Caz who seems to work round the clock, always has time for guests with a smile and unfailingly helpful attitude. When someone accidentally walked off with my carrier bag from the tennis court (containing both my room and safe key) Caz had the locks changed on both our rooms within the hour, so I could still go to dinner and relax. Fantastic on-the-spot problem-solving when it really mattered. Needless to say the bag reappeared the next day, still containing room key and my Havaianas....Likewise a mention for Hayley who made a good instant decision enabling her to satisfactorily sort out the Hotshots booking I shouldn't/needn't have made for my 14 year old daughter and then follow it all through - the level of local decision-making autonomy is a real strength of Neilson's.

Finally the nannies and mannies who made TAG and Surfsquad such fun for my teenage daughters - they worked really hard to entertain everyone, keeping it fun, safe, civilised and friendly. The "Teen Briefing" for parents on day 1 was very good and really helps to support parents of "lively" teens on holiday.

Really impressed also with all the local Turkish staff: unfailingly courteous and helpful whether in the restaurant or bar, the housekeepers and the maintenance staff. Also the unsung heroes in the Info Centre - eg when our air-con wasn't working they sent someone to fix it within 5 minutes of me reporting it. On the whole the experience was permeated with a really positive "can-do" approach by the staff I encountered and the efforts of so many people really made the holiday successful.

Added to all this, delicious food, comfortable well-maintained rooms, a beautiful setting, and "real" Turkey on the doorstep. I'm no expert on sailing or windsurfing, or how good any of that stuff is at Teos versus elsewhere - other people on this forum can comment far more knowledgeably - but I know my 14 year old absolutely loved all the watersports she did and the equipment all looked great to my uneducated eye, with plenty of helpful staff on hand to support. As a resort Teos is a very manageable size too, with enough people to give it a buzz, but not so many that it feels impersonal. As I was travelling alone with teenagers (who were always off with their groups), the Social table in the restaurant was a great idea and lifesaver which helped me to meet lots of great people to chat to at mealtimes.

The only real weak link in all of this wonderfulness was the Thomas Cook flights - which were late and late, (no explanation for this on the way out either) fairly indifferent, even slightly supercilious cabin staff, expensive drinks, redeemed only by good films to watch.

It's a pity I didn't find Neilson Beachclub holidays sooner, but better late than never and will hopefully be back next year...

Teos 17/7-27/72010
Our first holiday with Neilson and my son is already wanting to go back again. The HotShots Team Ellie & Stan were brilliant and my son (aged 13) came away having made good friends and completed his RYA 1 in both sailing & windsurfing, I will definitely be recommending Neilsons & Teos. The accomodation was simple and spotless. - Food was varied & plentiful with always something suitable for the kids. Also useful was the beach shop on site for water shoes, water gloves, rash vests and lots more. Having the kayaks available to take out during the day was also great as that was one thing you didn't have to preplan (I would recommend booking on the kayak safaris though as you get to go further out of the bay).

Teos 5-19th June 10

Just returned from my second Nielson holiday and am already looking forward to my next.

Would like to thank all the beach and bar staff for making the holiday another excellent experience which was over way too fast. I would have given the holiday 5 stars but for the inconvinience of the windsurfing set up - you need a ride on the rescue boat to take you in and out of the harbour due to the swirling winds in the bay. The food was excellent and the staff organised evening entertainment made up for the lack of it in the local town. The nannies also deserve a mention as they kept the kids entertained during the day (I don't have any!!) and were always happy to talk to guests in the evening.

As a fully fledged Nielson addict I would like to try Dahab next later in the year and would be pleased to here from any like minded windsurfers who have any tips for here. I can be contacted at absoloopally@hotmail.co.uk

It was great to meet so may other like minded fun people and the Spanish one also passes on his regards!! Hope to meet up at another resort soon.
