Meet the Team

We are a good bunch at Neilson. We know a lot about skiing, sailing, windsurfing, tennis, mountain biking and all our other sports. We also know a lot about making people welcome and ensuring they are well looked after.

But we also like to have fun and to meet new people.

If you'd like to know who you're likely to meet on your next holiday, just select your resort and meet the team. Some staff move around during a season, so we can't be 100% sure who you'll encounter, but you're likely to meet the people you see here.

This is a new feature on our site, so forgive us if you can't see anyone for your resort - but look again soon.

Mark Brocklehurst - Accom Control

After several summers on the tennis courts of Greece and Turkey, and a couple of stints in the mountains, Mark has moved into the world of Accom Control. This involves communicating with our Overseas Teams, Agents and Hoteliers across all of the Neilson products.

Clare Warman - Overseas Purchasing Executive

Clare spends much of her time ensuring that we have enough hotels, chalets and apartments to house the thousands of you who join us in France each winter. She has lived and worked in France for several years.

Pete Tyler - Managing Director

Pete is our MD, heading up the whole operation from our Brighton HQ. He started out as a sailing/windsurfing instructor back in the days of Falcon Sailing in the early eighties. Working in Nidri, Vassiliki, Bitez and Yalikavak (now closed) When he's not at work, he's often found aboard Neilson Redeye a J-92S racing yacht.  Or out on his mountain bike trying to keep up with his wife, Alison. Pete enjoys his skiing and the apres too!! Pete loves to visit resorts to be active and relax, and loves a good natter at the bar. Here is a picture of him teaching wakeboarding!!

Erica Werner - Senior Purchasing Manager

Erica's role at Neilson is to make sure we have enough hotels, chalets and apartments to accommodate Neilson's guests. Her main area of responsibility is France, a country she knows very well and our most popular destination.

Paul Deadman - Ski Product Executive

Paul spends as much time on the slopes as he can, while at the same time trying to convince people that he's actually working! In the product department, knowledge is king, so obviously, going to those resorts is essential. It's a hard job, but somebody has to do it! When he's not throwing himself down the slopes, Paul drums in his band, bijou, and generally lives the life of a rock star! (just without the cash, helicopters and cars!)

Marie Ashworth – Lakes & Mountains Product Manager

Marie first set skis on the sunny slopes of Alpe D’Huez, France at the tender age of 18!  Yes, a late starter but that first winter was the start of her addiction to the mountains. Since then, she’s worked three seasons in the Alps and has travelled all over the world.

There are still plenty of 'must do's' on her list including snowboarding in the Italian Dolomites and Kicking Horse, Canada, having a go at paragliding from Riva, Lake Garda and, after a few more flotillas under her belt, doing a delivery trip

Marie works in our Product Team and looks after Neilson's new Lakes & Mountains programme.

Kieron Lawlor - Cost Base Analyst

Kieron has been with Neilson for several years. Initially he was a bike guide in Greece - Now he does hard sums as part of the finance team. 'Legsmo' Lawlor is a committed road cyclist and raced road and track in his younger years. These days he keeps himself from boredom by being a volunteer crewman with the RNLI. When his bleeper goes he runs from the Neilson office to save lives aboard the Brighton lifeboat.

Pip Tyler - Overseas Director

Like his twin brother Pete, Pip joined the business way back in 1985 with what was then Falcon Sailing. There was a name change to Soveriegn Sailing a few years later when Falcon joined the First Choice Group. Sailing was then sold to Sunworld a few years later and became Sunworld Sailing. Sunworld had also bought Neilson Ski and the two "Active" brands joined in 1999 and moved to their own offices in Brighton Marina under one name "Neilson".

This winter we added the Airtours and Panorama ski brands to the family.

Pip & Pete separate responsibilities with Pip looking after all that happens once you get off the plane. When not at work he enjoys yacht racing on the boat he shares with Pete follow the exploits of Redeye through the summer racing season on the blogs on this site. He's still trying to master wakeboarding and tennis and enjoys mountain biking and skiing with his wife Judith and son Dan. As Neilson's Chief Instructor he is very much in touch with all at the Royal Yachting Association as we continually seek to make sailing more accessible to all.

Jackie Ring - Office Manager

Jackie is the unsung hero of the Neilson office in Brighton. As the Office Manager, she has a number of responsibilities on a day-to-day basis, all of which ensure that things move smoothly here at Locksview. If that wasn't enough, she is also the PA to Neilson Directors, Pip & Pete Tyler!

Jackie has also visited some of our resorts and cites Katschberg in Austria as her favourite because the small village resort has a quiet, relaxed atmosphere - a little different from her busy days in the UK!

Andrew Parry - Beachplus Development Manager

After many years as our Overseas HR Manager, Andrew has recently moved to the new position of Beachplus Development Manager.

His remit is to locate and research new resorts for the location of future Neilson centres. Forget the image of a jet-setting traveller scouring exotic locations at Neilson's expense. Thankfully, for both Neilson and the environment, Google invented Google Earth, so Andrew's carbon footprint is not as great as you would imagine.

A passionate Newcastle United FC and Wales rugby fan, he finds it difficult to chose a favourite resort. Porto Heli is up there not only because of the excellent dinghy sailing, but it was the first Neilson centre he worked at. So too is Vassiliki, where he visited for the first time in 1991, and has returned to on many occasions, as it offers something for windsurfers of all abilities!

When not at work, or not commuting there via the Downs on his bike, Andrew tries to improve his windsurfing or can be found amongst the crew on Pip & Pete's yacht, Redeye.

Steph Dewar - Overseas Childcare Manager

Steph is in charge of all of the Neilson Children's Clubs that we offer, from Snowbusters in Les Deux Alpes, to Surfbusters in Lemnos. Working within the Overseas Operations Team and closely with the HR team, Steph is involved in the interviewing, recruitment, training and support of all of the Children's Club staff across the Neilson programme.

Whilst this is a huge job in itself, she manages to find time to play (or "test" as she calls it) all the new toys she purchases every year for the clubs! She also shares with us, her prowess on the slopes, though we're not too sure about the picture Steph!

Lisa Turner - Reservations Team Leader

Hiding in the snow storm in Lake Louise is Lisa Turner. Lisa is one of the team leaders for the Reservations Team in the Contact Centre. Back in 2003, she went on a Neilson Beachplus holiday to Sivota and enjoyed it so much she stayed there and joined the team. At the end of the summer, she returned to Brighton and started working within the Contact Centre Team here at Locksview, becoming a Team Leader in 2005.

Lisa's duties include looking after staff rotas, helping team members and at times when things get really busy, you may even find her at the end of the phone booking your holiday!

Simon Davies - Overseas Operations Manager

Simon is in charge of the operations of the of our Beachclubs and Yacht programmes. Like most of the UK staff, he started working for the company overseas in Turkey in 1996, before moving to the office in 1999. A keen snowboarder and windsurfer, not surprisingly, his favourite summer resorts are Vassiliki, Ortakent and Lesvos, where he has been known to "test" the kit on several occasions (such is his dedication to duty!)

Paul Hudson - Head of Overseas Operations

Paul heads up the Operations Team who are responsible for the logistics and "nuts and bolts" of your Neilson holiday. Whether you're skiing in Serre Chevalier or diving in Dahab, the team will have been involved somewhere down the line sorting equipment for you to use, planes and coaches for you to get there and everything else that goes into the mix!

Infact, there's so much to sort, it's a challenge in itself catching Paul at his desk during the working day!

When holiday time comes around, Paul can often be found out on the water or on the tennis court with his young family, as this picture of him and son, Finn in Ortakent proves!

Stuart Milan - Trading Executive

When he's not splashing out the special offers, Stuart can usually be found splashing out on the water. A keen sailor and windsurfer, Stuart originally started working at Neilson in our Customer Services department, before moving to the Yield department, where he is one of the team that sort out all of the late deals and current offers.

Marta Wesolowska - Marketing Executive

Marta is responsible for a number of roles within the Marketing Department, from the offers and mailing we send out regarding our holidays, to the in-resort branding you see when you arrive on your Neilson holiday! This includes the posters, your welcome packs and the all important "Do not disturb/catching some zzzzs".

Originally from Poland, Marta has been here for 14 years and since joining the company has discovered a love of wakeboarding and sailing to add to her winter snowboarding fun!

Nancy Brock - Responsible Business Manager

Nancy has been with the company since the world was flooded the first time so she knows all about climate change. When she isn't muttering darkly about lights being left on or digging the wrong sort of paper out of the right sort of recycling bin, she's looking at ways to make our holidays as sustainable as possible.

If you have any comments or thoughts on this matter, you can get in touch with Nancy at nancy.brock@neilson.com

Graham White - IT & Office Support

Graham is the man to whom we all look when we have "issues" with our computers and booking systems! He knows the score with them in more ways than one, having once been one of the Reservations Team Leaders before the call of the megabite saw him take on another role.

Tanya Valente - Marketing Executive

Joining us from the Thomas Cook Graduate Scheme, Tanya is already making her mark here at Neilson. The programme encourages participation in a number of areas in the business from Marketing to Product and you may even have booked your holiday with her during a spell in Reservations!

Since learning to ski in Val Thorens, Tanya has worked also in Serre Chevalier as a rep for one of Neilson's sister companies, and extended her love of skiing to the water type whilst out on a resort visit to Ortakent, progressing to the board in ridiculously quick time! Go Tan!

More recently, she has become the "Voice of Neilson" as it is her cheerful voice that greets you when you give us a call!

Steve Farrar - Ski Operations Manager

Steve joined the Neilson overseas team in 1999 as a chalet host in Bardonecchia, Italy. After 7 years working overseas in various roles from chalet host, ski rep to Austria Area Manager he joined the Brighton office team as Ski Operations Manager. Steve has a huge passion for the snowy mountains but also loves his summer holidays where he heads out to our Beachplus resorts to enjoy all of the activities on offer.
