Beachplus Clubs - Lesvos, Halkidiki, Lemnos, Sivota and Ortakent.
In our Beachplus Clubs you will experience a more informal style of teaching. Shorter group sessions are available on a daily basis for beginners and improvers. You just put your name down at the beginning of your holiday for the session(s) of your choice to guarantee a place. If there’s something you’re particularly keen to get to grips with and there’s no dedicated clinic, just ask and one of our beachfront staff will be more than happy to help.
• Ideal for beginners or those looking for informal dinghy sailing coaching
• Sessions take you through the basics towards sailing competence and the RYA Level 1 certificate - ‘Start Sailing’. Various improver and taster sessions work to enhance your skills further, following the RYA syllabus
• Combine dinghy sailing with a wide range of other activities
• Independent sailing is welcome
• Great range of modern, easy-to-sail dinghies, including fast single handers, larger dinghies and exciting, fun catamarans
Whichever approach you choose we will help you rig, launch and recover your dinghy. We also ensure that dinghy sailing is available all day, every day (weather conditions permitting) and that evening sailing continues until the last sailor has finished practising their new skills.
Sailing Conditions
Porto Heli - A wide range of dinghies offers variety and the opportunity to progress for everyone from beginners to experts. We offer racing five days a week, beginners are most welcome and the wide range of boats allows everyone to improve their sailing, regardless of age or ability. A weekly day sail takes us out of the bay to a local taverna for a swim and lunch and when conditions allow we take improver groups out of the bay into the Argolic Gulf to experience higher winds and the opportunity to sail the RS 800.
Finikounda - Dinghy sailors revel in the brisk winds, practicing spinnaker and trapeze technique or racing the Laser fleet. Regular day sails allow you to explore remote beaches where the real beauty of this area of Greece can be appreciated.
Dahab - Dinghy sailing takes place in a specially designated area reached by a safety boat. Summer months bring strong winds which may limit the extent to which beginners can enjoy sailing. However the rest of the year provides great conditions for sailors of all abilities.
All of these clubs offer progressive, flexible tuition, with a large choice of
different teaching sessions chosen to suit the prevailing wind
conditions and your needs. Optional expert tuition is included in the
price of your holiday, from introductions for complete beginners to
advanced race coaching, depending on the centre you choose.
Lesvos - The wind conditions after breakfast are ideal for beginner dinghy sailors and windsurfers, with light winds that build steadily throughout the day. The afternoons provide great sailing conditions for improver windsurfers and those keen to try the two person dinghies and fast, exciting catamarans.
Halkidiki - The light morning breeze is the ideal environment for beginner dinghy sailors to get on the water, leaving the experts to limber up in our fitball or stretch classes. The afternoon brings a stronger breeze, perfect for tuning skills and blasting across the water in our double handers and catamarans.
Lemnos - Mornings see light winds, perfect for watersports beginners. Breezier afternoons are ideal for those keen to get out on the two-handed dinghies or catamarans. Avlonas beach is long and sandy so there is plenty of space to relax, sunbathe, read a book or watch your friends and family on the water.
Sivota - The sheltered waters and calm conditions make sailing for beginners ideal. In the afternoon the sailing area extends beyond the island for intermediates to make the most of the breeze further out.
Ortakent - In the light morning winds with our expert tuition, novices will soon be setting sail solo. By the afternoon, the wind usually picks up to a fresh force 4, offering exciting and challenging conditions for improvers and adventurous beginners. Everyone will enjoy the wide range of boats for all levels and conditions.
