Set at the end of the Paznaun valley, in a picturesque location, Galtür is a family friendly resort offering snowsure skiing and a long, reliable season. At the base of the ski area, guests will find a collection of ski in-ski out hotels, ski school, ski hire and childcare services.

Not only are the superbly groomed slopes great for all abilities from gentle nursery slopes to challenging off-piste guided expeditions, a dedicated ski area designed for the smallest of skiers offers special lifts and gentle slopes. Higher up, designated areas such as the magic fairytale woods encourage children to venture further up the mountain.

This resort is particularly attractive to families looking for excellent childcare and ski school options for kids. Galtür is part of the Silvretta ski region. Just a 10 minute bus ride from Galtür to Ischgl opens up a further 330km of slopes to explore, including lift-connected Samnaun across the Swiss border. The pretty village of Galtür, 2km from the ski base and on the bus route offers great non-ski facilities including an indoor sports centre, adventure pool and exhibition centre.

This is a fantastic, all-round resort that offers great, snow-sure skiing, traditional Tyrolean-style high quality accommodation and plenty of non-ski activities.

We went to the Hotel Almhof at christmas which was excellent, great facilites, service etc. However one word of warning even though the resort is billed as family friendly our 3.5 year old was in the ski kindergarten and nobody spoke a word of english. Some of the instructors for older ages may speak english but none of the ski kindergarten instructors.
