Beginners

Beginners Superb! Gentle nursery slopes at the ski base, blue runs from the top of the gondola to the bottom and lots of wide, reds to progress on to. Its excellent snow reliability helps beginners too - soft landings in the first couple of days. The ski school has a reputation for excellent tuition so it won't be long before you're venturing further up the mountain to practise your new-found skills.

Intermediates

An ideal resort for skiers and boarders wanting long, wide red runs to perfect their techniques. From gentle, style flattering runs to some steeper descents, there is a great variety of slopes for improvers.

Advanced

Galtür's three black runs offer a challenge for advanced skiers and boarders but it's the 330km Silvretta ski area, accessible by a 10 minute free ski bus from Galtür's ski area, which really offers the experienced something special. A huge area and some 15 black runs plus the chance to ski over the border into Switzerland!

Snowboarding

Those trying boarding for the first time are encourage by dedicated snowboard instructors in their own reserved area. There is a good variety of slopes for all abilities and some easy-to-access powder just off-piste. A little more off-the-beaten track, guides are available to take you to some amazing freeride spots. The resort also offers a terrain park and half-pipe.

We went to the Hotel Almhof at christmas which was excellent, great facilites, service etc. However one word of warning even though the resort is billed as family friendly our 3.5 year old was in the ski kindergarten and nobody spoke a word of english. Some of the instructors for older ages may speak english but none of the ski kindergarten instructors.
