Beginners

Beginners won’t be disappointed with the nursery slopes at the top of the Ahorn or Penken (accessible by gondolas from resort level). They are snowsure and ideal confidence boosters. Mayrhofen’s ski schools have a reputation for providing first class tuition so progression to blue runs in both areas can be rapid.

Intermediates

For intermediates, Mayrhofen is just the place. The Penken, being the largest of the two ski areas, is the most popular for intermediates and offers a wealth of wide red runs. Another quieter spot is the Lanersbach ski area which is now easily accessible via a new 150 man cable car.

Advanced

Advanced skiers can make the most of the super Zillertal pass and explore the neighbouring eleven resorts including the Hintertux glacier, serviced by buses and trains included with lift passes.

Snowboarding

A great place for snowboarders of all ability levels. The sport is very much here to stay in Mayrhofen, symbolised by its snowboard-friendly policy. There is an excellent half-pipe and terrain park at Penken, sponsored by Burton.
