Beginners
The beginners slopes are situated just above the village at Innerwald
and there are several blue runs to progress to around Giggijoch. The
glacier also has a number of snowsure blue runs. In addition, Sölden’s
ski schools have an excellent reputation.
Intermediates
Most of Sölden’s main slopes are red runs ideal for keen intermediates.
For gentle cruising, Giggijoch is a good place to go while Gaislachalm
is ideal for high-speed runs. For more challenging slopes, take a trip
through the ‘Golden Gate’, the gondola that takes you up to Sölden’s
glaciers.
Advanced
None of the black runs are particularly serious, but there are quite a
few challenging red runs. Off-piste is another story - there are
extensive possibilities in both areas, and guides are available should
you want one.
Snowboarding
Sölden is a great resort for boarders with its two terrain parks above
Giggijoch; one with a half-pipe, kickers and runs, the other with
boarder-cross and jumps. Although not ideal for complete beginners,
there’s great free-riding opportunities
for intermediate and experienced riders.
All the ski schools in Sölden offer specialist tuition including
off-piste instruction, jumping techniques, freeride guiding, training
camps and safety days. There is also a specialist Freeride Academy
offering experienced freeride guides and instructors.
