Beginners

Great for beginners with plenty of good blue runs to practice on. The Excellent English-speaking ski school will help you quickly get to grips with the basics. Very high quality rental equipment makes the early stages of learning much easier.

Intermediates

The ski area is definitely a paradise for the intermediate skier. The picturesque runs are well maintained and many of the descents are wide and tree-lined. Bansko also offers a fantastic 16km non stop run from the top of the Todorka peak right to the base of the gondola station at the head of the resort. The last 7km of this piste are floodlit and much of the mountain is now equipped with snow cannons, making for great skiing both in early and late season. The ski school also offers superb instruction for intermediates.

Advanced

The resort is limited for the keen advanced skier, however if you are looking to improve your technique then the ski school offers excellent tuition at a reasonable price.

Snowboarding

Some good boarding can be found in Bansko, with plenty of natural features to play on, as well as the resort half-pipe at the summit of the Gondola and fun park at the top of the Todorka peak.

Bansko has some good runs, although the long gondola ride up every morning cuts into your boarding time, add that to a cathing a bus every morning and your wake up call needs to be very early.
Just come back and although nursing a broken shoulder 'on the last day' had some good board time + improved through the excellent advanced lessons 'jo'.
Generally the food in the hotels is poor even though ours was 4 star.
Prices are no cheaper than uk unless you walk miles out of the centre.
Reps were ok when you could manage to find one but very dull on the organised events.
Upon injuring shoulder reps had a good laugh but offered no help regarding aftercare or how to handle insurance claims ect.
If your going for the slopes this is for you,if your after an all round holiday look carefully

Had a fantastic holiday in Bansko. Skiing great for beginners or intermediates-good long blue runs, excellent ski school. Worth going to Hotel Strazhite if you can-it's comfortable & in a good location avoiding the huge building site that much of Bansko currently consists of. Rep v helpful. Food in hotel plentiful, food on slopes is junk food but at least reasonably priced.

The main problem the resort has it that the gondola has reached saturation in the mornings. The first hour & a half of each day was a race to get in the gondola queue before the hoards. With all the building that's going on in Bansko I don't see how the gondola system will be able to transport the additional people next winter.
