Nestling in the pine forests of the Rhodope Mountains, ski holidays in Pamporovo are popular and the area enjoys the reputation of being Bulgaria’s sunniest ski resort. Overlooking the Snezhanka Mountain, this delightful purpose-built ski resort in Alpine style, has a friendly, relaxed atmosphere and is lively without being raucous. Many guests return year after year, just to experience once again the charm and hospitality of this resort, the efficiency of the Ski School and the added bonus of the £-sterling going much further than at home. A great place to Learn-To-Ski and Board.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Pre-Bookable Ski Packs
Because of the volatile nature of the Eastern European money market, we cannot guarantee the rates in resort for ski packs. In 2008/09 these were considerably more than the prices which Neilson was able to negotiate for ski packs booked and paid for in the UK. We therefore strongly recommend that you pre-book ski school, lift passes and Learn to Ski/Board packages, as well as any equipment hire you may require. We recommend pre-booking Snowboard equipment.

Currency
Money should be taken in cash (the notes should be new and in sterling), as credit cards and Eurocheques are rarely accepted. Travellers’ Cheques are subject to a 6% commission (approx). Visitors should change their money into Bulgarian currency (leva) as sterling is not widely accepted in the bars and restaurants. Although the cost of living is reasonable, you should bring enough money for the unexpected as it may be difficult to get hold of extra funds* (eg by credit card, etc.).
*The main reception of the Perelik Hotel now has a cashpoint.

Visas
If you hold a current, valid British passport, your visa will be stamped on your passport on arrival in Bulgaria. Holders of passports other than British must enquire at the Consular Department of the Bulgarian Embassy for their requirements before booking.
