When the lifts shut, a regular bar that many people head for is the 'Griz Bar' in the Day Lodge, they often have live bands playing at the weekends as well. Downtown, try out the Fernie Hotel Pub which offers a range of beers, pool tables and often has live bands or the historic Royal Hotel Saloon for a rustic atmosphere - though it can be fairly quiet during the week.

Fantastic! We skied and boarded here - a party of 6 of mixed ability (from OK to expert) and there was something for all. Great relaxed pistes and other runs that made the OK feel adventurous, and periously steep and off-piste challenges for the pros in our group. All with deep, deep snow, really friendly resort staff and few queues. A very laid back feel.

We stayed at Snow Creek Lodge. Wonderful. Great views of the slopes, and a proper ski-in, ski-out. And then there are outdoor hot tubs for relaxing under the stars and in the falling snow at night. The quality of the room was very good too, with proper kitchen and decent facilities.

One of those places that makes you want to go again, and measure other resorts against.
