Nestled right in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, Fernie is a ski holiday resort
that has gained a deserved reputation amongst British skiers in recent
years for its challenging terrain, excellent snow record, stunning
scenery & peaceful atmosphere.
It is recommended as a good
ski resort for all levels of ability. Its uncrowded slopes make it a good
destination for beginners & family ski holidays; while intermediate &
advanced skiers & boarders will improve no end in the numerous
powder bowls.
It was originally a mining town so you’ll find Rocky Mountain character
rather than high-end shops. The downtown area offers some shops, bars
and restaurants and lies 5km from the ski area. There are regular buses
that run up and down the valley and cost approx $3 each way.
