Beginners

There is a good nursery slope near the base station easily accessed with a magic carpet lift. There is also a small drag lift to learn on and some good easy slopes where you can pick up the basics. Further up the mountain there are many wide, groomed trails with stunning views over the surrounding mountains.

Intermediates

There is a good variety of intermediate terrain. There is a huge choice of blue runs offering long groomed slopes, more challenging steep runs and plenty of choices of in-bounds skiing in the wide and varied bowls. Lizard and Cedar Bowls are recommended as a great place for intermediates to challenge themselves or you could try out the 5km Falling Star run.

Advanced

Advanced and expert skiers will love this mountain. Fernie has everything you could want, steeps and deeps, trees, moguls,
6 wide open bowls, a great powder record, interesting off piste and fast steep groomers. The slopes are quiet and there are hardly any queues for the lifts – you want it, you find it, you ski it!

Snowboarding

There is great terrain for snowboarding, the slopes offer lots of natural features like steeps, trees and bowls. Most of the slopes are accessed by chairlift, there are also a couple of drag lifts which are quite short and easily manageable on a board.
Fernie also offers a rail park with beginner to advanced features, conveniently located near the Great Bear Express Chair. On a powder day Fernie is amazing!

Fantastic! We skied and boarded here - a party of 6 of mixed ability (from OK to expert) and there was something for all. Great relaxed pistes and other runs that made the OK feel adventurous, and periously steep and off-piste challenges for the pros in our group. All with deep, deep snow, really friendly resort staff and few queues. A very laid back feel.

We stayed at Snow Creek Lodge. Wonderful. Great views of the slopes, and a proper ski-in, ski-out. And then there are outdoor hot tubs for relaxing under the stars and in the falling snow at night. The quality of the room was very good too, with proper kitchen and decent facilities.

One of those places that makes you want to go again, and measure other resorts against.
