Vancouver
Take the opportunity to visit cosmopolitan Vancouver and some famous attractions, or simply shop! We've selected some quality hotels that can be added to the start or end of your ski holiday for as many nights as you wish. It’s an easy stop off point as you will pass through the city on the way to and back from Whistler – when you see it you’ll want to take a closer look.
Vancouver really is an amazing combination of 'big city' and 'the great outdoors' which offers something for everyone, young and old. Its location on the waters edge yet close to the mountains ensures spectacular views in every direction.
While you are in town try taking an old fashioned ‘trolley bus’ tours around Stanley Park, or visit the wonderful food and craft markets at Granville island, hop on a prop jet float plane that takes off from the water in Vancouver harbour or a ferry trip over to nearby Victoria on Vancouver Island. Spend a quite afternoon in the amazing marine centre in Stanley Park where there are several beautiful, white Beluga whales in residence. There are so many well priced fine dining restaurants you’ll find it a culinary adventure. The strong Asian influence has made sushi restaurants plentiful and excellent value. If you are staying for a few days then travel a little further out to walk across the Capilano suspension bridge which spans a gorge, take the Treetops Adventure walk or go up to ski on Grouse Mountain on the North Shore. All are great places to visit.
