Child Discounts, Prices and Offers Winter 2008/9

To help keep the costs of family skiing holidays down, Neilson offers fantastic savings for children. We’ve introduced Special Child Prices starting from £275 for 2-5 year olds. We also offer generous child discounts of up to 45% for children up to 11 years old in most of our properties. See individual property description for full details of discounts available and see below for a summary of the properties offering best prices and discounts for children.

Child discounts and special child prices are available for children 2-11 years inclusive when they share a room with two full fare paying adults. Please note that when you travel with us to European apartments, children do count towards occupancy, unlike with many other holiday companies. So while other companies child prices may initially look cheaper, adults on the booking will probably find themselves paying additional under occupancy charges.

Canada Child Prices

Canada is the perfect family ski holiday destination. Canadian ski resorts are all family-focused and completely English-speaking, offering superb ski schools. This makes them a wonderful destination for all the family.

We want to pass on the great reductions that many hotels in Canada offer for children. Our child prices for children travelling to Canada are based on your date of travel, choice of resort and the airline you travel with. In order to qualify, children must be aged from 2 to 11 years old and share a room with at least two full fare paying adults - please note that they do not count towards occupancy. The prices apply for all types of accommodation and for all durations, except at the Sunshine Inn in Banff where special prices apply.

Please note: flight supplements and regional supplements apply. For Kicking Horse and Fernie add £30, for Jasper add £65 to the prices above. Prices are a guide only and will be confirmed on enquiry. Children do not count towards occupancy. The price includes £40 Air Passenger Duty, aircraft insurance, security, fuel and other associated costs known at the time of booking. Savings For Single Parents

We offer Single Parent Savers on all properties throughout the season. If you are the only adult travelling with a child on a ski holiday, Neilson will still give your child a discount of 10% off the adult price when you share a twin bedded hotel room with them on all dates throughout the season. In order to qualify children must be aged between 2-11 inclusive on the return date of travel. This offer cannot be combined with any other discount such as free group places.

Important Information

1. Child discount/prices apply to the first or second child sharing a room or apartment with two full fare paying passengers, unless otherwise indicated.

2. The childs age on the date of return travel must not exceed 11 years. Third or subsequent children sharing a room or apartment pay the full adult price.

3. If a child is subsequently older on the date of departure than originally specified at the time of booking, this may mean that they no longer qualify for a child price and you will have to pay the full adult fare, plus any administration fees.

4. Child prices for holidays to Canada using scheduled airlines are dependant on the scheduled airline used; any applicable flight supplements are payable in full.

5. All percentage reductions and child prices shown apply to the basic adult price for air holidays. In the case of self drive holidays, discounts or supplements apply after the child percentage discount amount has been deducted or added.

6. Ski packs, or any extra facilities (e.g. pre-bookable kindergarten) that you might require are payable in full.

7. Infants, aged 7 weeks to 23 months inclusive on the date of return travel pay £29 on short haul charter flights, £110 on all scheduled flights. The infant must sit on an adults lap or occupy a car seat (infants must be at least 6 months to occupy a car seat). Customers choosing to use a car seat must book and pay for a flight seat for the infant. Infants do not qualify for luggage allowance. Certain properties charge a higher amount, these carry an errata and a charge will be made at the time of booking.

8. It is an airline regulation that children aged 2 or over must occupy a seat. Children aged 2 or over on the RETURN flight must pay the appropriate child price for the holiday.

9. Costs in respect of cots, food etc, are payable direct to the accommodation management/service provider. Where this charge is more than £250 we will advise and take payment with your booking.

10. All children must be insured. If you do not take Neilson insurance, details of alternative cover must be specified at the time of booking.

11. A deposit of £130 (short haul) or £150 (long haul) is payable on all holidays for children, but not infants.

12. In European accommodation, child discounts and special child prices are available for up to two children sharing a room or apartment with two full fare paying passengers - these children will DO count towards occupancy. Third or subsequent children sharing a room or apartment pay the full adult price.

13. In chalets or cabins without 3 or 4 bedded rooms, Neilson will allow up to one discounted child place in units with 8-13 beds, or a maximum of two discounted child places in units with 14 beds or more.

14. Special child prices are available for any number of children as long as they share the room/apartment with at least two full fare paying adults and there are enough beds available. Children travelling at special child prices to Canada DO NOT count towards occupancy.

15. Discount applies to the basic holiday price only, all other supplements and charges still apply.

16. Some hotels charge for infants, cots, food and other services and you will have to pay for this locally before departing your accommodation. Where this charge is more than £150 we will advise and take payment with your booking or soon after.
