Beginners
Flaine is an excellent choice of resort for the first-time skier, as the spacious gently sloping nursery area is right in the heart of the resort. Beginners should not pre-purchase a lift pass as there are 3 free lifts on the nursery slopes to start off on.
Intermediates
The vast majority of the runs in the Grand Massif area are ideally
suited to the intermediate skier, with runs both above and below the
tree line. The easy red and wide-open blue runs provide excellent
terrain on which to improve.
Advanced
Amidst the 260 km of runs there are more than enough enjoyable descents
to keep even the most proficient of skiers happy. The steep plunges
beneath the Tête Pelouse and the Tête du Pré des Saix are particularly
worthy of mention. The off piste area of Le Combe de Gers is great in
fresh conditions, but you should always take a mountain guide. Our
representatve in resort can arrange this for you.
Snowboarding
A popular resort with snowboarders; there are wide, open slopes and extensive off-piste available in this resort. The well-linked system consists of chairlifts and drag lifts so boarders of every ability level can enjoy the huge range of terrain available. Snow conditions permitting there are various snowboard parks in the Grand Massif ski area. Flaine also features a half pipe and a terrain park.
