Beginners
Both ski schools, ESF and Evolution 2 have good reputations and use English-speaking instructors. There are five free lifts for beginners in Val Claret and Lavachet, so we recommend beginners to buy a lift pass locally.
Intermediates
A superb, almost endless, variety of long wide pistes, mainly above the tree-line, with plenty of gentle off-piste slopes where intermediates can get the feeling for powder snow. There’s a choice of several mogul fields for the better intermediate, while the Col Pers off-piste run from Le Fornet is long and not too difficult. There’s a superb, very long and very challenging black run down from the Aiguille Percée to just above Tignes Les Brevières.
Advanced
Mile-after-mile of untracked snow, powder bowls, couloirs, mogul fields and bumps left to grow to impressive dimensions. An interesting off-piste adventure is the ‘Vallee Perdue’ or ‘Lost Valley’, which follows the course of a river, down a gully. The ski school offers excellent packages to explore this and other extensive untracked areas in the vicinity. Your Neilson rep will be on hand to advise you on local conditions and help make arrangements for you.
Snowboarding
The “Espace Killy” has long been established as one of the most extensive, exciting, snowsport areas in the world. Snowboarders are spoilt for choice with one half-pipe, a couple of snowboard parks and a seemingly endless supply of pisted and unpisted terrain. Beginners, intermediates and experts will be more than satisfied with this incredible area.
