Corvara

"A beautiful resort for the skier who likes to enjoy the bustle and fun of a resort without scrimping on high quality accommodation or the available skiing. Corvara definitely has a buzz about it, both on the slopes and in the numerous après bars in the town. A real must see, must ski resort."

Beginners

The ski school is based right in the town with the nursery slopes directly outside, underneath the ‘Boe’ gondola. From here you can quickly progress onto the gentler slopes leading back into Corvara town.

Intermediates

Heaven! The Dolomiti Super Ski area boasts over 1000km of well pisted runs, all accessible via the single Dolomiti Super Ski pass.

Corvara is seated in a perfect position to enjoy the Sella Ronda, one of the worlds' most famous alpine ski routes where you can circumnavigate the incredible Sella massif via a clever lift system that allows you to go either way round. This is a must do and forms part of the Neilson ski guiding itinerary.

Advanced

Once again, mile after mile of well groomed pistes to perfect your carving technique. There is also the challenge of deeply moguled slopes that are all there for you to play in.

One favourite advanced excursion is an early morning helicopter ride up to the top of the Marmolada Glacier, taking in the stunning Dolomite scenery on the way to find yourself stood alone at the top of a mountain with the Dolomites spread in front of you just waiting to be explored. Neighbouring Selva also hosts a world cup downhill event, hence it’s racing pedigree.

Snowboarding

A mixture of wide pistes above the tree line, beautiful wooded cruisey runs back to resort makes the area particularly suited to intermediate boarders who want to see as much of the area as possible. There are one or two flat spots on the way back into town but nothing a friendly skier won’t help you out with! Going off piste with a guide, the area is as extreme as you want it to be, from just ducking to the side of the runs to full on backcountry. High altitude skiing rarely dipping below 1500m and a good snow record means very reliable snow conditions.
