We tried to stay at the Granvara Apts during March 2008, but sadly on arrival there had been a mix up with bookings and 2 groups did not have a room. We were eventually moved to the owners 'sister' apartments a little further down towards town, which to be honest were in a much better location & were much bigger. I'm just glad this wasn't at night as we had to wait around 2 hours in the freezing cold to get it sorted.

The Granvara Apts are only about 300m from the nearest lifts, but sadly it is a very steep walk to and from. If you stay there, hire a locker at the lift station - at least then you will only have to do the walk with your kit twice during the week.

We did take a quick peek inside one apartment and it appeared to be absolutely fine - compared to what you can get elsewhere in Europe.

The resort itself is lovely but be prepared to hike - the ski areas are split on either side of the valley and to be honest if you want to do the Sella Ronda you really need to stay in either St Christina or Selva - Ortesi is just that little bit too far due to the queues getting onto the circuit.

Also be warned, you have no rep in resort at Ortesi and sadly the one that is there doesn't know a great deal about the town/facilities at all.
