Beitostolen

Friendly, safe and fun for beginners and families best describes the most recent addition to Neilson’s Norwegian programme. As well as uncrowded, gentle slopes perfect for learning and improving, the ski resort of Beitostolen offers plenty of non-ski activities orientated towards the whole family.

This compact resort of Beitostolen is situated around the base of the ski area, with Neilson accommodation no more than 300m from the central meeting area. With all the resort facilities within easy walking distance, guests will find it extremely hassle-free to get around. For a small village, there is a surprising number of restaurants, bars and shops to choose from, plus a supermarket and bakery, all housed in attractive wooden cabins. Après ski tends to be low key during the week in one of the four bars in resort, but livens up on weekends and during public holidays when live bands often play. Off the slopes, there are plenty of activities to choose from and during the winter, organised family activities every day, geared towards parents and children.

HUSKY SAFARI & HOT CHOCOLATE
Warm and cosy thanks to reindeer skins and insulated clothing, a team of huskies take you on a 10km round trip across beautiful landscapes, stopping half way for hot chocolate and cookies.

INFLATABLE FUN ON THE SLOPES
Inflatable rafts & snow?  It may seem a little crazy but you can enjoy the adrenaline of flying down a snowy track in an inflatable raft. A take on toboganning but more fun!

The perfect place to learn, the ski school, and Jonas in particular were great, and had two complete beginners skiing in knee deep powder by day 5.
Jacek the rep did a brilliant job making sure the holiday ran smoothly, from sorting out the ski fitting to booking us on a husky sled trip!
While on the expensive side when in resort, eating and drinking out, its not too expensive in the supermarket, and when you do venture out Peppes Pizza is possibly the best in Europe! The large really is large, and more then enough for two people, including lunch the next day!
So if your looking to go somewhere to learn you can do alot worse than Beitostolen! Thanks Neilson for a great first ski holiday, I doubt it will be our last.
