Beginners

For complete beginners we recommend the rolling slopes at Duved and the gentle runs at Årebjörnen for plenty of easy skiing and confidence building. All areas offer excellent ski school tuition with English-speaking instructors who instill confidence and encourage you to find your ski legs in no time at all. Beginners staying in Åre village will meet for ski school at the nursery slopes of Rodkullen, a 15 minute ride on the free ski bus. Beginners staying in Tegefjall will begin on the nursery slopes in Duved, a 5 minute bus ride away.

Intermediates

The east and south facing runs at Tegefjall offer long cruising descents, ideal for the intermediate skier and those of Mullfjallet in Duved are an intermediate skiers dream. For more of a challenge head to the Åre Centre ski area.

Advanced

There are a number of steep runs including the famous World Cup run. On the lower slopes the steepest pistes are in the Olympia area close to Åre village. The resort also offers many challenging opportunities for off-piste skiing (with an official guide). Lessons in advanced techniques, heli-skiing and telemark skiing are available at special ski clinics and can be booked locally. Please note: the Åreskutan ski area (the higher lifts) does not open until early February.

Snowboarding

A popular resort for riders. The Duved ski area is especially good for beginner snowboarders. There are terrain parks with pipes, jumps and boarder-cross in Tegefjall, Rodkullen and Årebjörnen ski areas, some of which are floodlit in the evenings. To make the most of the area, boarders should be happy taking drag lifts and T bars - there are lots of them.

Åre Ski Camp

For good intermediate skiers who have reached a plateau, the ski school’s two day Ski Camp is the course to help you breakthrough to the next level. Three hours of intensive tuition on each day ensures you perfect your carving, off-piste, short turns and moguls.

Park and Pipe

For advanced skiers and boarders who have some experience attempting jumps but want to sharpen their park and pipe skills, this group course run by the ski school is a great choice.
