Stay and Sail Holidays
Stay and Sail is a great way to combine a relaxing week’s beach holiday with a fun-filled week on a yacht.
As with all our other holidays, you can use the first week however you like.
You can learn to sail from scratch in a few days and brush up your skills if you are feeling a bit rusty. Or you can try our other activities - windsurfing, mountain biking, waterskiing, or just relax by the pool and soak up the sun.
This is a fantastic holiday choice for couples, families and larger groups of all abilities, because everybody gets to do what they want to do.
Stay

Spend your first week ashore in a Neilson
Beachclub or
Beachplus resort. All our hotels are the perfect place to build up your energy and skills for your week afloat.
You have a number of options in the first week. If you’re a complete beginner, our qualified instructors can teach you to handle the yacht in just four days on our
Introduction to Yachting course. You can take the course on your own, as a family or with friends. Children aged between 13 and 15 can also join their parents on a course (this can really make a family holiday) or just join in the fun, on and off the water, at our
children’s clubs.
Or if you already know a thing or two about sailing, you can take a refresher course and brush up your skills to give your confidence a boost.
If you know your way around a yacht, why not just relax and recharge your batteries for a week? Imagine, seven days where all you need to think about is whether to spend your days lounging in the sun, or trying one of the many activities on offer at some of our resorts. (The range of additional activities available is dependent upon your choice of resort).
All activity options are available for two days, four days or all week and are priced separately, except for our
Beachplus club - The Retreat, where they are included in the holiday price. Please note there are no activity options or children’s clubs available from
The Athos Hotel in Nidri.
Yacht training courses at all four Stay and Sail bases are available at a supplement, see price panel on relevant page for details.
Sail
After your choice of week ashore you will be ready to join your yacht and the rest of the flotilla for your second week afloat. Enjoy the Mediterranean sunshine and clear, glistening sea from the deck of your own yacht as you sail from one village harbour to another. Life on the open seas is an exciting adventure and often breathtaking.
Your lead crew are always on call to assist you. They endeavour to leave port last and arrive first ensuring they are always available for the trickier points of casting off and mooring up should you need assistance.
One Week Learn to Sail
Our Stay and Sail holidays have always been a great way to learn to sail. A week of learning the ropes on a fun Introduction to Yachting course before a week of flotilla sailing. But we know a two week holiday isn't right for everyone. Which is why we have introduced a one week option.
At the start of your holiday you will move straight onto your chosen yacht, which will be your home for the week. The yacht will be moored up on the Neilson pontoon, close to all of the hotel facilities. The first three days of the holiday you will learn to sail your yacht on our Introduction to Yachting course.
On the 4th day you will set sail and meet up with the rest of the flotilla, all under the close supervision of a Neilson instructor. This is a great opportunity to put into practise the skills you will have learnt on the previous three days. By the end of the fourth day you will have the skills and confidence to join the rest of the flotilla and sail with the reassurance of your lead crew nearby.
If you’d prefer not to spend the whole week aboard your yacht, we can offer the option to upgrade, for a supplement, to bed and breakfast. The one week Learn to Sail option is available in Nidri and Porto Heli.
