Yacht Beginners

It’s not as hard as you might imagine to pick up the skills required to sail a yacht around the Mediterranean coastline.

With our tried and tested courses and fantastic yacht trainers, you will be sailing with confidence in no time at all.

How do I start?

Our Stay and Sail holidays provide the perfect way for all newcomers to sailing to get afloat. A week in a comfortable hotel learning to sail, followed by a week on a relaxing flotilla is the perfect combination for sailing beginners. With four hotels to choose from, each with its own unique flavour and range of activities, you can tailor make the holiday to suit your own needs.

Do it all in One Week

If spending two weeks learning to sail is not an option for you then our new one week Learn to Sail holiday is the perfect solution - half the week will be spent at one of our yacht bases living on and learning to sail your yacht, for the second part of the week you will join your fellow sailors on flotilla.

Learning To Sail

We teach hundreds of complete novices to sail every year on our Introduction to Yachting course. The course is designed to equip you with all the skills required to take a yacht on flotilla and experience the freedom of sailing the picturesque coastlines of Greece.

If you are taking sailing lessons, don’t worry; it isn’t all work, work, work. There’ll be plenty of opportunities for you to join in the fun with your family and friends. You never know, as well as sailing you may also master another exciting skill like wakeboarding, windsurfing or dinghy sailing. Additional activities are dependent on your choice of resort.

Life on Flotilla

Each day a route will be planned for you, and all you have to do is make your way towards your destination. Travel at a pace that suits you best, take in the scenery, or race there as fast as you can, it’s your choice.

Whatever speed you decide on, one thing’s for sure, you’ll make some amazing discoveries en route - unspoilt coastlines, wonderful islands, picture-perfect coves and deserted beaches. Best of all, you’re free to stop wherever you like and explore. That’s the beauty of being skipper of your very own yacht.

Obviously if you’re a first-time sailor, you may feel a little nervous - but there’s really no need. In a flotilla, you can stay with the other boats as much as you like - and our lead boat is always on call to assist you, so you know that help, should you need it, is never far away.

Where To Go?

Our sailing areas are suited to sailors of all abilities, with the Ionian in particular offering the perfect introduction for complete novices and those who may be a little nervous of this new adventure, with sheltered waters, gentler winds, generally shorter routes and a multitude of anchorages, bays and islands to explore.
