Week Two - On Flotilla
For your second week you will move from your accommodation at Hotel Lumbarda onto your yacht on the Neilson yacht pontoon a couple of minutes walk away.
The following day the flotilla will depart taking a route planned by the lead crew. After which you will enjoy the fantastic sailing on offer along the Dalmatian Coast.
Running in a predominantly north west - south east
direction, the Dalmatian Coast has myriad tree covered islands scattered offshore.
The breezes, like most if the Mediterranean are thermally generated sea
breezes. This means that generally mornings are light breezes, starting
from calm at sunrise building up to steady force 4's and 5's in the
afternoon.
However, due to the complicated topography and the local Bora
wind often kicking in, this breeze can occassionally become stronger
through certain channels between the islands or sometimes disappear
completely.
With the occasional fresh breezes and passages between islands and
the mainland, we would recommend the Dalmatian sailing area for those
who have some experience of sailing or for confident, adventurous
beginners.
Your Route
The following is an example of the route you may take, it is intended to give you an idea of what to
expect and is dependent upon a number of factors including the weather,
size of flotilla and ability of other sailors in the flotilla.
Monday - Lumbarda
When you arrive you will move onto your yacht, ready to start out on flotilla the following day.

Wednesday - Sipanska Luka
The island of Sipan is the largest of the Elephite islands. The islands are regarded as some of the most beautiful in the Adriatic. The approach to Sipanska Luka, the largest settlement on Sipan is down a sea loch with impressive limestome hills on either side.

Okuklje is situated on the Northern coast of Mljet and is one of the most protected coves on the island. The cove is small and pretty with a few restaurants and a small shop.

Monday - Departure Day
Example Routes and Mooring Fees
Please note whilst in Croatia many of the harbours we use utilise lazy lines provided by local restaurants which it is customary to frequent. Alternatively we use modern marinas, for which we advise you to budget approximately £150 per yacht, per week.
