Activities
The sailing area is extensive, with ocean and inland sailing offering conditions to suit all abilities. Turning right off the beach takes you to the Indian Ocean and an area that makes the most of the trade winds blowing up or down the coast and protected by a reef a mile offshore. Turn left and you head into a vast inland saltwater lake, 5km in diameter, offering a more sheltered sailing area.
Kilifi is one of our best dinghy sailing areas, whilst windsurfing is great for all levels with good consistent winds for beginners, improvers and high-level intermediates.
We have a fleet of kayaks and canoes for exploring the tiny bays and inlets of the creek and mangroves, home to over 250 different species of birds.
Mountain bikers will also have a fantastic experience, there are lots of tracks in and around Kilifi, where you can experience the sights and sounds of a typical bustling African market town.
There are wonderful opportunities for snorkelling and scuba diving along the vast coral reef and in the creek.
