Soll & Ellmau at a glance
The villages of Soll and Ellmau belong to the Bergwelt area of Tyrol, one of Austria’s most beautiful regions. Providing an excellent base for exploring the magnificent ‘Wild Emperor’ mountain range, this area offers no less than 400km of marked paths. Soll and Ellmau are themselves linked by 160km of walking trails.
The Kaiserjet bus allows you free transport between Soll, Ellmau, Going and Scheffau, so you’ll have access to many different walking trails, as well as some excellent sports facilities. But don’t think you’ll have little else to do here. The villages are small but they’re home to a number of shops, cafés and bars and provide plenty of traditional entertainment. The area is particularly well suited to families, with attractions such as Ellmi’s play park in Ellmau and ‘Hexenwasser’, a fascinating walking, learning and activity centre.
