Arosa at a glance
Reached by train from Chur, or by road through spectacular scenery, Arosa lies at the end of the beautiful Schanfigg valley in the Graubünden area. The village has two Alpine lakes; the smaller Untersee offers swimming in the free lido, while the Obersee has pedaloes and rowing boats for hire.
There are 200km of beautiful, well-marked walks in and around the village, through pine forests and meadows up to higher alpine trails, and throughout the season the tourist office arranges guided walks and tours, as well as other events. For mountain bikers, there are 50km of trails suitable for beginners through to seasoned riders.
Arosa is a friendly, welcoming resort, particularly for families. The Arosa Junior Club has a programme of children’s activities to ensure they’re kept amused throughout their holiday. All visitors staying in the resort are entitled to the Arosa card, giving free access to all the lifts and many other attractions besides.
Highlights
Walking and Hiking
Graubünden is popular for overnight trekking – so much so that walkers doing the several-day tour from Davos to Lenzerheide via Arosa can have their luggage transported from one stopover location to the next. One of the most popular hikes is the 15km ‘ten lake hike’
Lake Activities
Pedaloes, aqua bikes and rowing boats are available for hire on Lake Obersee, in the heart of Arosa. This is a fun way to explore the stunning 18 hectares of lake. With your Arosa visitor card, there is no hire charge.
Multimedia Lake Spectacular
Every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday around 10pm, Lake Obersee transforms into a light, sound and water spectacle. Cannons spray 39,000 gallons of water per minute into the air against a dramatic light and sound show. Free with the Arosa visitor card.
