Bansko activities
Bansko is worth a visit just to experience the ‘Mehana’ or Taverns that
are dotted all over the resort. They are the traditional restaurants
serving up incredible hospitality, local dishes, fine wines and
authentic Bulgarian entertainment. A guaranteed good night out and one
that is not to be missed!
The resort itself is a fairly
large, spread out and constantly growing village where the old meets the
new and buildings
are springing up every few months. It's worth taking a walk around the
'old town' to get a feel for the more traditional side of Bulgaria.
A limited number of ski related shops and activities are available but
otherwise Bansko is a bit commercially undeveloped. It's great for
improving skiers who love
evenings with friends in cosy bars and restaurants, but not so good for
those looking for lots of shopping. Most of the activities are based
around your hotel, such as 10 pin bowling and swimming.
