Flaine for families
With over 85 resorts in our programme, we've picked Flaine as one of our top 10 family destinations for a whole host of reasons. Location: Just 2 hours from Geneva airport makes Flaine one of the shortest direct transfers in France. Once there, the resort is laid out with convenience in mind, and the excellent resort bus service ensures that it's easy to get around throughout the day. Accommodation: The majority of our properties are ideally suited to our family guests with properties ranging from fully serviced, full board hotels to self catering apartments where you have the freedom do things your own way.
The Slopes: The ski area suits all members of the family with wide, gentle nursery slopes close to the village centre providing excellent tuition and a dedicated children’s ski area to cruisy blue runs and some amazing off-piste opportunities.
Childcare: The resort also offers the entire spectrum of childcare facilities, catering for children of all ages, on and off the slopes. See the different options below:
Babycare - 6 months to 3 years: The Petit Loups nursery caters for children aged 6 months to 3 years and can be pre-booked directly by calling 0033 450 908 782. Créche – 18 months to 17 years: The two full board family hotels we feature have their own children's clubs where French and English speaking staff will keep your kids entertained with a wide range of indoor and outdoor activities. The Hotel Club MMV Le Flaine (above) has clubs for resident children from 18 months to 12 years and the Hotel Village Club Du Soleil Flaine (p247) will cater for resident children from 3 months up to 17 years old.
Ski kindergarten – 3 to 5 years:
Pre-bookable through Neilson, the ski school run ski kindergarten is available for children aged 3-5 years old, running for 3 hours a day for 6 days. Costs start from just £125 for the week.
If you or the kids still have some energy left at the end of the day, there are plenty of regular après-ski activities to keep all members of the family entertained.
