Geilo activities
Geilo is a small, quiet village located either side of the Bergen-Oslo railway
line. It offers a small number of bars and cafés and a convenient
undercover shopping arcade housing a well-stocked supermarket.
Après-ski tends to be relaxed during the week and lively at the weekend
or during public holidays, when live music is occasionally hosted in
one of the village’s bars. Its great choice of winter activities and
excursions make it popular with non-skiers.

Search for Santa - Christmas holiday weeks only, approximately 2 hours: Set off for a quiet ride on a traditional Geilo 'kicksledge' to the secret place where Santa spends his time in between delivering presents. Let the children enjoy the magical moment of meeting Santa sitting by the fire in his special old house. Adults £44 (16yrs+), children £22 (4-15yrs), 2-3yrs free.
Surf & Sleigh - Thursdays approx 2.5 hours: Fun for all the family on this evening activity - leave your holtel by horse & sleigh to make the trip to the Geilo horse centre where you can fly down the slopes on your very own snow raft. A warm up drink is served in a teepee once you have enjoyed a few runs. Adults £45 (16yrs+), child £32 (4-15yrs).
Husky Safari - Wednesdays approx 5km: A popular mini adventure which will give you a feel for this great mode of winter transport used for many years to cross the snowy landscapes of Norway. Visit the husky centre where you will meet the dogs and be given simple instructions about how to drive or 'mush' a husky team. Then you will take a 5km sleigh ride out over the frozen lake or through the surrounding forests. You'll be amazed by the excitement of the huskies as they leap through the snow - a real treat fro adults & children alike. Adults £65 (16yrs+), child £49 (4-15yrs), 2-3yrs free.
Langedrag Nature Park & Mountain Farm - Friday approx 4 hours: This is a must see for all nature lovers, a special farm established to preserve species of arctic fox, lynx, wolves, yak, reindeer & more. There are around 20 species of animals, petting barns for the children & an opportunity to learn about traditional methods of goats milk cheese making. Adults £49 (16yrs+), child £27 (4-15yrs).
