Bareboat Sailing Holidays in the Northern Aegean, Greece
From our yacht base of Nea Skioni on the Kassandra peninsula
of Halkidiki you have access to the relatively uncrowded and undiscovered
sailing area of the Northern Aegean.
Situated in the north of Greece, Halkidiki is characterised
by 3 fingers of land, which extend out into the Aegean Sea. Kassandra to the west is the most popular and is famous for its beautiful beaches, backed by fragrant pine covered hillsides. The middle
peninsula is called Sithonia and has a wilder, more rugged landscape with
secluded bays, beaches and quaint fishing villages. Finally to the east is
Mount Athos, a UNESCO World Heritage site, famous for its Byzantine monasteries
and resident monks. Off limits to all but a few visitors, Mount Athos is best
viewed from the deck of your yacht.
This 500km long coastline is not as well known as some other
areas of Greece, which only adds to the appeal as here you will find some of
the best scenery and beaches that Greece has to offer, and what’s more on our
sailing holidays you will be able to find those beautiful deserted coves and
beaches with ease.
The northern Aegean sailing area is further north than the
Cyclades and Sporades, moorings and safe anchorages are easy to find and with
the prevailing summer winds blowing steadily from the north the sailing
conditions are generally fantastic.
All of our bareboat boating
holidays will start at our Beachclub, Neilson Anastasia where you can also
combine your bareboat holiday with a week at our Beach club, here we offer watersports
holidays with a whole host of activities appealing to all tastes including
dinghy sailing, windsurfing, mountain biking, waterskiing, tennis, yoga and
kids clubs for all ages.
Sailing Experience Levels
We require at least 2 people per yacht over the age of 18 to have been in charge of a sailing yacht for several cruises and have plenty of sailing experience, they must be comfortable sailing in a range of
conditions. If this level of experience cannot be satisfied, one of our flotilla
holidays may be more appropriate.
Marina and Mooring Fees
You will very rarely need to pay mooring fees in Greece, but if you
do it is usually only a few Euros per night, more in larger marinas.
