Job Title: Bike Mechanic

Department: Neilson Beach Club

Job Role Summary

To coordinate and run maintenance for the resort fleet of around 100 road and mountain bikes

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

Organise and implement pre season and on going maintenance schedules to ensure the bike fleet is in full working order for the guests.

Take personal responsibility for the maintenance, repair and security of Neilson equipment and the satisfactory appearance of Neilson sites to ensure the meeting of guest expectations.

Monitor and track bike spares and supplies. Ensure orders are placed as and when required working in line with resort maintenance budgets.

Take responsibility for health and safety in the bike maintenance area.

Invest time and effort in training and developing the bike guides maintenance skills.

Actively get involved in the bike program and lead guided rides.

Present a professional appearance and attitude at all times and maintain an excellent standard of customer service.

Practically help with the set up of the centre at the start of the season and the pack down of the resort at the end of the season, as well as on a day-to-day basis.

Help organize and host social events, deliver briefings, and generally interact with guests at all times.

Be prepared to move between different resorts according to operational needs of the business to

fulfil your contractual end date and be flexible in your job role, willing to assist in all other duties, within reason, as requested by your manager according to training you have been given.

Qualifications and Experience required

Minimum of Cytech technical 2 qualification preferably Cytech technical 3.

Experience of fleet maintenance.

Preferable to have a trail leader qualification.

First Aid certificate valid for the duration of the contract.

Educated to GCSE standard.

Previous customer service experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required

Extensive knowledge of all aspects of road and mountain bike maintenance and repair.

Ability to lead fun, varied, safe and informative bike rides.

Knowledge of emergency First Aid procedures and the ability to react calmly, quickly, and effectively in emergency situations.

Knowledge of current road and mountain bike developments.

Ability to effectively communicate with guests of all ages, management, and other staff.

Able to work independently and on own initiative.

Ability to work well within a team and maintain effective working relationships.
