Club Hotel Manager job description

Job Role Summary:

To ensure that a high standard of catering and hospitality services are offered to our guests in Neilson’s smaller winter hotels, whilst achieving pre-determined financial targets and providing an excellent standard of service to all internal & external customers.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

To create and maintain a welcoming and comfortable environment in the hotel, providing guests with information, help and guidance to ensure high standards of customer service.

To set, monitor and control key service performance indicators.

To support, motivate and encourage members of the hotel team, providing and receiving constant feedback and seeking to improve performance as a team. To successfully identify own and hotel staff training needs and ensure any necessary training is completed.

To take responsibility, in conjunction with the management team, for the co-ordination of all staff work rosters, rostered days off and payroll information.

To plan and serve, in conjunction with the kitchen team, a varied menu on a 6 day basis, constantly seeking to improve methods and maintain a fresh approach to food preparation and service.

To achieve set sales targets for ski pack, bar and après ski products and to operate within a set budget, regularly monitoring & reporting on financial performance.

To take responsibility, in conjunction with the management team, for the implementation and monitoring of strict systems of stock control in all areas of the hotel.

To be responsible for ensuring all areas of the hotel are cleaned and maintained on a daily, weekly and seasonal basis in accordance with Company standards.

To ensure that the hotel environment is a safe one in which to work and stay and that all Company and locally-required health and safety and procedures are implemented.

Demonstrate an excellent overall knowledge of Neilson products and pro-actively cross sell our holidays to all Neilson guests.

To establish good working relationships with our suppliers to ensure a strong, positive Company image in resort.

Qualifications and Experience required:

Cooking experience or a cooking/hospitality qualification.

Previous customer service and sales experience.

Numerical aptitude.

Experience of work overseas desirable.

Ski or boarding experience desirable.

Educated to at least GCSE standard.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required:

Excellent communication and public speaking skills.

Excellent planning and organisational skills

Able to work under pressure and to targets.

Conversational French preferred.

Able to work on own initiative and follow written and verbal instructions.
