Housekeeper job description

Job Title: Housekeeper

Location: Overseas

Reports to: Hotel Manager

Direct Reports: N/A

Job Role Summary:

As part of a motivated team, you will be responsible for the daily cleaning and upkeep of the hotel rooms and public areas, as directed by the Head Housekeeper. You will ensure any maintenance issues are recorded in line with procedures and will help create a welcoming and friendly environment within the hotel.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

To ensure the hotel is maintained to the agreed standards of cleanliness in all guest rooms, public areas and other areas as specified.

To be approachable and friendly at all times to guests and maintain a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere in the hotel.

To use all machinery and chemicals, as specified.

To ensure care and account for all stocks of linen and chemicals.

To constantly monitor results and work practices to ensure standards are maintained.

To investigate and recommend any changes to work practices that can bring benefit to the hotel operation.

To ensure all H&S and HACCP guidelines are met and maintained in the all work practices.

To develop positive working relationships within all the teams of the operation

Demonstrate an excellent overall knowledge of Neilson products and pro-actively cross sell our holidays to all Neilson guests.

To carry out other duties that help with the smooth running of overseas operations as directed by the line manager in resort
