Directly opposite the four-star Hotel Kramerwirt is this, the Försterhaus annexe building. The rooms are comfortable and simply furnished yet spacious enough for families and groups. Guests have full use of the main hotel so you get the facilities of a four-star hotel at three-star prices.
You'll find the best views of the resort and mountains at the main hotel's rooftop spa. It's the perfect place to relax and unwind after a day of skiing or boarding. There are also saunas, steam rooms and hot tubs you can use for a local charge.
The main hotel has been beautifully renovated since its days as the village inn nearly 400 years ago. It's situated just off Mayrhofen's main high street with a ski bus stop on the doorstep so you couldn't be more central. About a ten-minute walk from the hotel is the ultra-modern high-speed Penken gondola. From here you have access to great snow and over 500kms of pistes.
Nearest lift: 500m to the high-speed Penken gondola
Tuition meeting point: 500m (at the top of the gondola)
Resort centre: You're in the centre
Bus stop: Outside the hotel
Mayrhofen has a well-deserved reputation for being a great all-rounder. The slopes are seemingly endless (over 500kms in the area) as is the nightlife, the lift system is quick, the terrain is diverse and there really is something for everyone.
The village is typically Austrian with multi-coloured buildings running along the largely car-free resort centre. You'll soon find a bar that suits your mood. The range goes from full on Jaeger-bombing to laid-back traditional oompah and everything in-between.
Don't miss a visit to the White Lounge ice bar on the Ahorn mountain. Pull up an ice seat at an ice table in the crazily lit bar, or head out to the sea of sun-loungers with your drink and work on removing your goggle tan.
The resort also plays host to some pretty big events. The Altitude Comedy Festival sees top comedy acts (John Bishop, Sean Lock, Marcus Brigstocke etc) fighting it out for laughs on and off the slopes. Snowbombing music festival is held in various venues and hotels in Mayrhofen. It can be quite full-on so we don't really recommended it for families.

The rooftop spa is quite a special place. The views extend out across the resort and up to the towering, snow-capped peaks. The facilities include a steam room, relaxation areas, hot tub and saunas. As you're on holiday, take advantage of the massage and beauty treatments that are available.
There's is a local charge to use the wellness facilities and treatments, but you can book and pay for them locally.
All of your half board meals are taken in the main Hotel Kramerwirt. There's a hot and cold buffet breakfast and the evening meal is four courses with three choices of main and a salad buffet. If you book over Christmas or New Year, the dining areas are full of festive decorations, gala dinners are included and there is live music.
The restaurant has different dining areas so you can choose to eat in the cosy, rustic lounges or in bright, open spaces with large windows. Most tastes are catered for and the chef often serves produce from the family farm, fishery and hunting grounds.
The playroom is great for kids. It has plenty of toys, drawing and painting supplies. Older ones can play board games and the restaurant has a children's menu and you can rent high chairs, cribs and baby carriers to save you bringing them with you.
The rooms in the annexe are spacious, private and simply decorated with lots of natural light. Some rooms sleep two to four and there are also interconnecting twin rooms that are great for families. Each room, or pair of rooms, has a TV and an en-suite with shower.
