This is a truly luxurious place to stay. The list of facilities is endless, the service is superb and the location isn't bad either; it's just 50m from the nursery slopes and 200m from the Schattberg Express gondola making access to the 270km of picturesque piste a breeze.
The hotel is all inclusive so all of your drinks and exquisite food is included, all throughout day - you'll find it hard to leave! The styling of the hotel is elegant with modern interiors and some lovely spaces to sit and rest while drinking in the beautiful mountain views.
If you enjoy fine-dining then the gourmet menu will keep you satisfied. The restaurant has six separate seating areas and an extensive wine cellar with over 40 regional and international wines.
The spa is ultimate luxury and all guests have free use of the extensive facilities that span three floors. You can swim from inside to out in the 25m by 9m heated pool. To ease aching muscles check out the massage jets in the indoor pool and family hot tub.
The ‘Sauna World' area with open-air terrace is something else. There is a wide range of indoor and outdoor saunas, steam rooms and hot tubs. Plus an ice plunge pool (if you're feeling brave) and three large relaxation areas with waterbeds and sunloungers.
If that wasn't enough, there is a free juice bar and fitness room in case you didn't do enough during the day. You can also pay for a massage or beauty treatment for a bit of extra pampering.

About the resort
Saalbach and Hinterglemm are two pretty villages that sit in Austria's largest ski area; the Ski Circus. It has the name because the slopes literally surround you. There's 270km of picturesque red and blue runs with mountain huts dotted all around. This place was just made for the mile-hungry intermediate skier or boarder.
If you want to attempt a full circuit in one day then you'll need to get up early. Or try the long run over to Leogang for lunch to check that your legs are up to it. If you're more advanced, there are some steep blacks and moguls under the Shattberg Express gondola and the freeriding is some of the best in Austria!
The après-ski is a genuine Austrian experience and starts on the mountain at about 3pm. Saalbach is the livelier of the two villages and you can keep going until the early hours if you have got the pace.
