    Der Waldhof is one of the few slopeside hotels in Zell and you can ski or board right back to the hotel, so popping back for a drink in the warming bar is easy. This elevated position means you'll have some far-reaching and pretty special views out over the town, the lake and beyond.


    The hotel spa facilities are free to use and include an outdoor pool, sauna, hot tub and steam room, so there's plenty of leg rejuvenation to be had. There's free Wi-Fi throughout to stay connected with friends and family, and weekly live music for some local entertainment.



    It's a 10 minute stroll to the resort centre and a charming place to enjoy a winter break thanks to the traditional Austrian feel. The cosy lounges and a very impressive wine cellar provide plenty of variety to your relaxation.


    This is a supremely great place for groups on holiday. Oh, and don't forget about the free daily après-ski snacks! What more could you want after coming off the mountain?

    About the resort

    With lively nightlife, picturesque scenery and great skiing for all levels, Zell am See is one of Austria's best loved lakeside resorts. On the mountain, it has a nice mix of runs that are perfect for complete beginners to the advanced. It's a fairly large ski area as well with 138kms of runs with great snow conditions.


    Head over to Kaprun (15 to 20mins away by bus) and you'll have guaranteed snow on the Kitzsteinhorn glacier. A trip there is covered on your Zell lift pass too.



    When you're not exploring the area, head into the Old Town and you'll be absolutely charmed by its magical medieval setting. The town is awash with cafés, bars and restaurants suiting all different budgets and tastes. Après starts on the mountain at around 3pm, the Berghotel is a good place to kick off!

    Food and drink

    With the half board meals, you'll receive an extensive buffet breakfast and a very appetising buffet evening meal. Don't miss the weekly Italian buffet which is always a hit.


    At Christmas they serve a lovely holiday meal and the New Year Gala dinner has a champagne reception with entertainment and a midnight buffet included (and you must wear smart dress, of course - it is New Year after all).


    From 7 March 2020 until the end of the season, the hotel will be on all inclusive board.




    The 98 rooms here give you a good variety to suit different party sizes, tastes and budgets. Each are bright, charming and very spacious. All of them come with a bath or shower, cable TV, a minibar and a mini-safe for your important belongings.
