The Hotel Samokov sits in a really fantastic central location and opposite the Yastrebets gondola. It has a big swimming pool and wellness area to help you work on tired legs, and a bowling alley to help you mix it up in the evenings. It's very family friendly too with a range of facilities targeted just to families, and interconnecting family rooms as well.
The cocktail bar is a great place to unwind in the evenings, and table tennis and billiards will round off your leisure activities when you're not checking out the sauna, whirlpool, and steam room. Be sure to give the à la carte 'Panorama' restaurant a go as the views are pretty good!
The spa centre has a lovely indoor pool with lots of natural light courtesy of some huge floor to ceiling windows. Free Wi-Fi is available in all of the public areas so you can Facebook and Instagram to your heart's content.

About the resort
Borovets is a bustling resort sat amongst the stunningly gorgeous pine forests of the Rila Mountains. It's particularly well-suited to beginners, improvers and families as it has wide-open slopes, fantastic coaching from friendly, English-speaking instructors and a dedicated kids ski area. There's also night skiing if you don't get your fill during the day.
Off the mountain, the resort is fairly compact and has two main pedestrianised areas that are jam-packed with cafés, bars, live music venues, tourist shops and more. It's quite the bustling marketplace.
You can't come to Bulgaria without trying an evening meal in a Mehana - a traditional Bulgarian tavern with fantastic local food and entertainment. Also, don't miss taking a traditional horse and cart trip around the resort, or head into the nearby town of Samokov for a taste of authentic Bulgaria - all for incredible value.
