About the resort

La Plagne forms one half of the 425km playground which is the Paradiski area. It really is one of the best ski areas in the world, regularly playing host to speed skiing, freeriding, freestyle and world cup events.

The terrain is varied, high and seemingly endless. The La Plagne half of the area is over 200km in itself so unless you're a hardcore mile-muncher, the local lift pass is enough. That said, it's definitely worth a trip over to Les Arcs at least once during your stay just for the cable car ride; the double-decker  Vallandry Express is not to be missed!

La Plagne is made up of 10 separate villages, all at varying heights and all with a slightly different style. Being a purpose built resort, it may not be the prettiest, but it's well thought out and mostly traffic-free.

The Turquoise is based in Belle Plagne up at 2050m where there's a nice choice of bars and restaurants and a few small supermarkets and touristy shops with the usual fare on offer. Belle Plagne is also linked to the larger and more lively Plagne Bellecôte by a cable car. This runs up until midnight giving you more options for evening entertainment.

There's also sports and beauty massages available for when you want to spoil yourself, or you need a bit more help easing aching ski legs!

There's a small charge for using the spa (except the pool), but there is one free spa pass per apartment for guests staying in the apartments for two to four people and two free passes per apartment for guests in the larger apartments.

Food and drink

Self catering means you can make your own local dishes. The kitchen in each apartment is fully equipped to help you do exactly that. And if you don't fancy cooking, there's plenty of places to choose from in Belle Plagne too. Breakfast, mid-morning coffee, hot chocolates, crêpes, pizza and fine restaurants are all readily available.

Choose from one or two bedroom apartments which. Both have sofa beds in the lounge and every apartment comes with a kitchenette with everything you need to rustle up your favourite meals. There's also a lounge area with free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TV and DVD player, a balcony or terrace and a full bathroom.

There's a €300-€500 deposit (depending on size of apartment) which is payable on arrival and refunded on departure. End of stay cleaning (except kitchen and washing up) is included.

Families and kids

A residence operated non-skiing junior club for four to 10 year olds is available during French school holidays if your kids don't fancy the slopes.

During the week, the club will have a range of creative activities and snow games, a programme of mountain-themed activities that are both educational and fun, all supervised by competent and friendly entertainment teams.
