The Grand sits in one of the best spots in Serre Chevalier. The main gondola and ski school meeting point are right outside the front door. You'll also not be far from the nightlife of Chantemerle which comes as lively or relaxed as you want it to be.

The hotel plans a full renovation for 2016/17. All public areas and rooms will have new furnishings and a fresh, contemporary style. The staff though will still be as welcoming and friendly as before. They help create the wonderful relaxed yet vibrant atmosphere in the hotel. It's a really fun place to stay.

About the resort

Serre Chevalier is made up of four separate villages lying in the south-facing valley above the medieval fortress town of Briançon – a World Heritage site. Our accommodation is based in two of them; Chantemerle is traditional with more charm and shops whilst Villeneuve, being more recently built, is ideal for easy mountain access and some lively après ski. There's plenty to do off the slopes including impressive thermal baths at Monêtier.

On the mountain, everything is big. Big terrain and big areas for beginners, intermediates and advanced skiers and snowboarders. Journey between the well-connected pistes linking the four peaks and the numerous tree lined runs threading through pretty larch forests.

The red runs of Chantemerle and Villeneuve offer a real challenge, as well as some serious off-piste expeditions. And don't miss the infamous Rocher de l'Enfer run - you'll need an hour in the hot tub after that thigh burner
