It has a fabulous roof-top cocktail bar with stunning, panoramic views out to sea and is a great place to watch the sunset.

All cabins, bedrooms and bathrooms have a stylish, contemporary feel. There's also a 50m swimming pool, freeform pool, splash pool and beach bar.

Alana Beach Club is just great for all the usual inclusive Neilson activities with a large sailing bay for water sports and 6 tennis courts. There's also a climbing wall at the Beach Club, or you can go rock climbing in the national park.

As always, the Neilson activity and childcare team are there to look after your every need, whilst our Croatian partners 'Bluesun' run the hotel and hospitality side.

Water Activities

The usual water sports are included at Alana Beach Club; choose from sailing, windsurfing, kayaking, paddle boarding, water skiing and wakeboarding. And for a little extra, you can also have a go at wakesurfing.

Dinghy sailing and windsurfing

Launch from the pebble beach into the large bay. With very few other water users, it’s yours to enjoy to the max. Most afternoons there’s a good cross-on-shore breeze, beginner and intermediate dinghy sailors and windsurfers will be in their element.

All dinghy sailing and windsurfing tuition follows the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) teaching scheme, so you'll be progressing in a safe and fun way. If you're after a few pointers, just sign up for the group sessions with one of the team, they'll advise you of the right group for your level.

Dinghy sailing equipment: Topper Topaz 16, Laser Dart 16, Laser Bahia, Topper Argo, Laser Pico, Laser 1

Windsurfing equipment: a range of beginner, intermediate (160-130 litres) and shortboards from RRD. Kid Joy rigs for children (2m-4.5m); start rigs for beginners (2.5m / 3.5m / 4.5m); adult rigs (4m - 8.2m)

Land Activities

Back on dry land, there's heaps more inclusive activities for you to try with tennis, mountain biking, fitness classes and a climbing wall.

Mountain biking is aimed at beginners to intermediates. Routes skirt the base of the national park, mainly on gravelly fire roads. There's loads of potential for more rides and our resourceful bike guides will be on a mission to discover loads more routes for all levels.

Mountain bikes: Trek X-Caliber 9 MTB (2022)

If you've got cycling shoes with cleats and are planning on bringing them with you, we advise that you should also bring your own pedals. That way, they are guaranteed to fit.

Tennis and pickleball

Back at the Beach Club, there are 6 tennis courts with inclusive daily coaching and free play. If you're a keen player you can get some intensive coaching with the premium tennis pack. This includes 2 hours of group coaching plus super drill sessions for 5 days and a 30-minute private coaching session. With just 8 places available you'll get some quality time with the coaches, but we do recommend you pre-book before travel to save your space.

Mark Petchey, ex-GB tennis player and Andy Murray's former coach will be joining us for an exclusive week of coaching from 13-20 July 2024 for a fantastic week of coaching for all abilities.

And for something new, why not try the fun sport of pickleball. Pickleball combines elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis. We have 2 brand-new courts alongside our tennis courts.

We provide a selection of adult and child rackets from Wilson.

The climbing wall with instruction is an inclusive activity. If that gives you a thirst for more and you really want to get the adrenaline pumping, for a little extra you can pre-book and join us for some exhilarating rock climbing in the national park (one of the most famous free climbing sites in Europe).

There are hundreds of routes for beginner and experienced climbers to choose from and you'll get professional instruction from local experts. This is a popular activity, so make sure you pre-book before travel to guarantee your space. The minimum age to book a climbing package is eight years (minimum height at least 120cm and weight 30kgs). Children under 18 years must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Don't forget to pack your hiking boots, the glorious Paklenica National Park has plenty of clearly marked paths to take you on a number of unforgettable walks and hikes.

Food and drink

Club board at Alana Beachclub is brought to you by a team of local chefs.  All guests, regardless of the length of stay, will receive breakfast and lunch every day. The number of inclusive evening meals depends on the number of nights you will be staying.

- Stay 3 or 4 nights and get 2 evening meals
- Stay 5 or 6 nights and get 3 evening meals
- Stay 7 nights and get 4 evening meals.
- Stay 10 or 11 nights and get 6 evening meals.

Inclusive meal nights are Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Friday and you will dine in our buffet restaurant on the terrace.

On non-inclusive evenings you can enjoy the à la carte bar menu and BBQ or take a 10-15 minute stroll into town, where there's a good selection of restaurants. Many local bars and restaurants don't take card payments and are cash only - we recommend you bring some euros with you.

The local wines, robust reds and crisp whites are delicious and are served in the hotel bars and restaurant, ask our team for a recommendation and at the end of the day, a sundowner with an awesome view from our rooftop cocktail bar is not to be missed.

Rooms

Rooms and bathrooms in the central tower and on either side of the freeform pool feature contemporary styling and furnishings. Cabins are modern with two ensuite bedrooms with good storage space and a small entrance hall with plenty of room for flip-flops and bags.

You have a great choice of rooms in three different areas of the Beach Club. The central tower has rooms over nine floors; the views from the upper floors are hard to beat with some of our premium sea view rooms located on the 5th-9th floors. There are more rooms on either side of the pool, these are split over three floors, the majority of which look out across the gardens and many have sea views.

Choose from twin, double, family and interconnecting rooms. There are also 34 two-bedroom cabins with large wooden verandas. Five of the cabins have sea views, and the private veranda is just a stone’s throw from the beach, ideal if you love to wake up to the sound of waves lapping the shore.

All rooms have air-conditioning, a mini-fridge, tea and coffee-making facilities, a telephone, a TV, a safety deposit box, beach towels and a hairdryer. There's free Wi-Fi in the public areas and in most of the rooms.

There is no local tourist tax to pay at Alana Beach Club (correct as of March 2024).

Families and children

There's a lot for families with inclusive Neilson run clubs for children from 2 to 17 years. Make sure your children don't miss out, pre-book before you go to secure a space in the club they want.

There's also a creche for babies (4 to 23 months) which is available as a supplement. You'll also find a pool for the little ones, play area, mini-golf, lots of wide-open spaces and warm, shallow water. We can also provide cots, baby baths, buggies and a 24-hour baby room for those with smaller children. The local town is also very family-friendly.

10 and 11-night holidays

10-night holidays arrive on a Thursday and depart on a Sunday. 11-night holidays arrive on a Sunday and depart on a Thursday.

Activity sessions can be booked in the welcome meetings, with taster windsurf and dinghy sailing sessions for complete beginners. If you want to waterski or wakeboard you'll get 3 inclusive tows (weather conditions permitting and non-transferable). For both 10 and 11-night holidays, evening meals are included for 6 evenings. Kids' clubs are available every day except Sunday (which is the main transfer day).

Local area

Renowned for its natural beauty, crystal clear water and abundance of historic sites, there's much to love about this beautiful country.

Take a stroll from the Beach Club along the seafront promenade to the local village of Starigrad. It’s relaxed and easy-going, with a handful of restaurants, overlooking the water. It's popular with the local residents too, so you get a real taste of their way of life. The gateway to the Paklenica National Park is just 2 kilometres from the Beach Club and the park is an absolute must-see.

We also have an agency based at reception who can help you arrange excursions. There are days out to Krka National Park to see the 7 interlinked waterfalls, Plitvice Lakes is another must-see with 16 lakes connected by 92 waterfalls - it is quite spectacular! You can also join a kayak safari to the Zrmanja River, which is considered to be one of the most beautiful rivers in Europe

Slightly further away, the beautiful, walled port of Zadar is a 45-minute drive away and well worth a visit. Take a walk around the historic centre, where Roman ruins stand alongside Venetian-inspired churches. This is a great place to visit on our non-inclusive nights with some wonderful restaurants scattered around the marina and in the old town.

Many of the local bars and restaurants don't take card payments and are cash only. Cash points are available but the exchange rates are not favourable so we would recommend you bring some local currency (euro) with you.
