Val d'Isère

If you love to ski hard (maybe not as hard as in the picture!) and party hard, Val d'Isère in France might just be the place for you. Forming one-half of the 300km, snowsure Espace Killy ski area, Val is world-famous for a reason and a definite 'must-do' for your skiing bucket list.

With not just one but two glaciers in the area (Glacier du Pisaillas in Val and the Grande Motte in Tignes), you're guaranteed snow for your holiday. Try and do both in a day for a good workout!

At a glance...
  • 300km Espace Killy ski area
  • Snowsure with a glacier
  • World-class nightlife
  • Great shopping
  • An intermediate's paradise
  • Saturday flying from Gatwick, Heathrow, Birmingham or Manchester
  • 4 hour transfer

Packed full of bars, restaurants and clubs including an infamous Folie Douce, you'll find plenty to keep you smiling on and off the slopes. The village itself is a mix of old and new with plenty of snowy streets and coffee shops for a relaxed afternoon stroll.

Our only property here is a lovely chalet which used to be a farm cottage. The Neilson Chalet La Vieille Maison has plenty of original features and is only 100m from the Olympic piste and funicular in the village of La Daille, about 2km outside of Val centre.

On the mountain

Set high up in the mountains and with fantastically varied terrain spanning 300km, most of Val d’Isère‘s lifts are long and rapid meaning you spend more time actually having fun rather than queueing up!

This is intermediate and advanced level paradise. There's a seemingly endless amount of runs and plenty of easily accessible off-piste so get ready to work those leg muscles! With two glaciers in the area (try doing both in a day), you're guaranteed snow so there's nothing to stop you covering the miles.
