The BIG summer sale
Where the Acarnanian Mountains meet the gentle, clear blue waters of the Ionian Sea – that's where you'll find Vounaki Beachclub.
When you see the large sailing area with the shores of Lefkas Island as the backdrop and hear the pinging of ropes against masts – you'll know why water sports and in particular dinghy sailing is so popular here. Consistent winds and easy launching make getting onto the water a breeze.
With so much variety, there's bound to be a water sport to suit you; dinghy sailing, windsurfing, water skiing, wakeboarding, stand up paddle boarding and kayaking - all are included in your holiday to Vounaki Beachclub. New for 2018 we have added the exciting sport of wakesurfing - it's available for a small supplement, book locally to give it a go.
Gentle winds that build in the afternoon will help grow your sailing confidence. The sea in this part of the south Ionian rarely gets beyond a gentle ripple, so it's great for all of the available water sports. Kayaking and stand up paddle boarding are both easy to master in the calm waters and the coastline is full of interest, so get out there and explore. Windsurfing is suited to beginners and non-planing intermediates who will love the easy launching and wide open bay, as will the dinghy sailors.
If water skiing and wakeboarding are more your thing, most mornings you'll wake up to smooth, glassy water. There's a ski pontoon located just off the beach giving easy access to our ski boats. We include two free tows per person per week with upgrade packs available from just £150 per person. Don't forget, you can also give wakesurfing a go for a small supplement.
There's also a marina and large fleet of Neilson yachts. The yachts can be booked for a skippered day sail (the perfect way to celebrate a special occasion) or you can opt for a stay and sail holiday.
Windsurfing: a range of beginner, intermediate (160-130 litres) and shortboards from manufacturers Starboard, Fanatic and RRD. Dino rigs for children (2m-4.5m); start rigs for beginners (2.5m / 3.5m / 4.5m); adult rigs (4m - 8.2m)
Dinghy sailing: Laser 1; Hartley Supernova; Hartley Wayfarer; Hobie 15; Hartley 12; RS 200; RS Feva
Water skiing, wakeboarding and wakesurfing: Ski Nautique 196 and Fletcher GTO19 with a range of skis, boards, mono skis, wakesurf boards and wake skates.
Kayaking and stand up paddle boarding: Gemini single and double sit on top kayaks; wave kayaks; Red Paddle Co stand up paddle boards (10'8") and XXL stand up paddle board (8 man).
Gentle morning winds build throughout the day to give a nice breeze in the afternoon, it's windier than the Retreat Beachclub further north and the perfect place to learn to sail or for intermediate to progress their skills. Further out of the bay, winds can build to a steady force 3-4 in the afternoon.
There are lots of inclusive activities, choose from mountain biking, road cycling, tennis and a programme of fitness classes.
The nearby Acarnanian Mountains provide superb cycling terrain. Challenging climbs on quiet roads and a great range of trails will have roadies and mountain bikers grinning from ear to ear. For a more relaxing experience on two wheels, venture along shady tracks to rural villages and secluded beaches. There are guided rides each day or the bikes are available for free riding.
Mountain bikes: TREK X Caliber 9 in a range of sizes (15", 17", 19", 21")
Road bikes: TREK Emonda ALR 4 in a range of sizes (47cm to 60cm).

Go on, indulge in a little me time - you've earned it! Take a wander along to the treatment rooms and chat to one of our therapists about the range of Temple Spa treatments available. Enjoy a unique twin centre holiday when you stay and sail from Vounaki Beachclub. You'll be combining a week at the beachclub with a week on board a yacht, sailing the beautiful south Ionian coastline with a group of other yachts (also known as a flotilla). It's great for all sailors, but especially so for beginners, who can join our 'intro to yachting' course.
Our holidays include club board meals – daily breakfast, daily lunch and four evening meals each week. From buffets to beach bbq's our chefs work tirelessly to provide a wide range of delicious food. Head to the beach bar for a post-activity thirst quencher or, when the day is done, enjoy drinks on the terrace of the deck bar and watch the sun setting over the bay.
Your inclusive evening meals are on the following days:
The rooms have a traditional Greek feel to them and are bright and airy. Many of the rooms have sea views, whilst others look out over the back of the beachclub towards the Acarnanian Mountains.
There is a wide choice of accommodation to suit most needs with double and twin rooms (some also have sofa beds), plus interconnecting and mezzanine rooms for larger groups and families.
Each room has air conditioning, mini fridge, tea and coffee making facilities, telephone, TV, safe, beach towels and hairdryer. There's free Wi-Fi in the public areas and in most of the rooms.
Tourist taxes are payable by you when you check out of your beachclub accommodation. Charges vary by destination and are currently between €1.50- €4 per room per night (prices correct as of March 2018 and subject to change). Taxes for children are age dependent . To find out the most up to date tourist taxes for this beachclub please contact us.
The beachclub is set on a hillside. All areas are linked by gradual slopes and pathways, but there are still a few steps here and there to navigate. That said, it's great for families with lots of wide open spaces, a long and sandy beach, a family friendly pool and a separate kids' pool. The rooms are spacious, with plenty of space for family groups. There are also interconnecting and mezzanine rooms.
Your kids (2-17 years) will be kept busy day-in and day-out with our range of kids' clubs. For our very youngest guests, we have the Starfish crèche (available for a supplement) and there's a 24-hour baby room, where you can make feeds, warm milk and sterilise bottles. Make sure your children don't miss out, pre-book before you go to secure a space in the club they want.
The delightful Greek village of Paleros is just ten minutes from the beachclub. Charming, quaint with lovely beaches, traditional restaurants and bars – you'll be greeted with friendly smiles from the local residents.
Lefkas and Preveza towns are also worth taking a trip to. Bustling and lively, they provide a good contrast to the sleepy shores of Paleros.
The capital of the island is just a local bus ride away and well worth a visit for the day or evening. An attractive and bustling town, Lefkas includes narrow lanes with fancy boutiques, open squares with busy tavernas and a quayside teeming with yachts and fishing boats.
Take a day sail on a skippered Neilson yacht. Drink in the magical coastline, while relaxing in the warm breeze on deck. Let us sail you to secluded bays where you can swim or snorkel in the crystal clear water. Alternatively, sail into the sunset, sipping bubbles as the sun sinks below the horizon; enjoy the romance of the evening on a sunset cruise. This is definitely the climax to a wonderful day.
