Arriving at Baia dei Mori Beach Club you’re struck by the relaxed vibe. Take a stroll on winding paths through the dunes to the beach. The clear turquoise water lapping at your feet will instantly wash away thoughts of home. It's situated on the north east coast of the Italian island of Sardinia, to the south of the famous Costa Smeralda

We include a wide range of activities in your holiday. If you’re into road cycling, you’ll be in your element. On road or off road, it's the best cycling on offer in any of our beach clubs. It can get pretty breezy too, so it’s just great for water sports, especially sailing and windsurfing. You can also kitesurf at a nearby beach (non inclusive activity), when the wind blows the conditions are great.

On the water Activities

Dinghy sailing, windsurfing, kayaking and stand up paddle boarding are all inclusive water sports, and for a little extra you can also give kitesurfing a go.

The sweeping bay with soft, fine sand and clear, warm water is picture perfect. Get down there early, grab a stand up paddle board or kayak and head out. The pine-fringed bay is undeveloped with beautiful views all around and the vista so vast you’ll feel like paddling for miles.

The launch area is sandy and shallow, and once out into the bay this can be a great place to learn to windsurf or sail. Once your confidence grows, there’s more of a breeze further out and a vast expanse of water just waiting to be explored.

As one of the windier regions of Italy, Sardinia is a mecca for kitesurfers, from beginner to advanced. You’ll be able to book beginner sessions nearby or hire the kit if you can already kitesurf. One of the Neilson team will be on hand to help you make arrangements, but it is subject to availability and is very much wind dependent. The kitesurfing beach is approximately 25 minutes drive away at San Teodoro beaches.

Water sports equipment

Windsurfing: a range of beginner, intermediate (160-130 litres) and shortboards from manufacturers Starboard, Fanatic and RRD. Kid Joy rigs for children (2m-4.5m); start rigs for beginners (2.5m / 3.5m / 4.5m); adult rigs (4m - 8.2m)

Dinghy sailing: Topper Topaz 16, RS Quest, Laser Bahia, Laser Pico, Laser 1

Kayaking and paddle boarding: Gemini single and double sit on top kayaks; wave kayaks; Red Paddle Co paddle boards (10'8") and XXL stand up paddle board (8 person).

Wind conditions

The wind typically picks up in the middle of the day between around 11am and 3pm. It blows cross to cross off-shore most days. The typical wind force ranges from 3-4 with the most consistent conditions in June, July and August.

Activities on the shore

There's even more on the shore, join us for road cycling, mountain biking, tennis coaching and fitness classes, all are included, just dip-in and dip-out as you please.

If you’re happiest in the saddle then Sardinia’s road cycling won’t let you down. Roads climb in sweeping curves through the rugged mountains, with spectacular views of valleys and coastlines that make the thigh burn worth every second. If you’re new to the sport or want to give it a go, there are flatter road routes too.

If you prefer riding off-road then the mountain biking ranges from flat beginner routes to technical climbs and challenging descents. There's some great wildlife off the beaten track - keep your eyes peeled for countless birds, butterflies and lizards. If you want to get out and ride as a family, you'll find a great choice of bikes and rides suitable for children over 13 years.

Within the beach club, there are four new tennis courts and an outdoor fitness deck where you can hit it hard or stretch and relax. If nothing else, take a stroll down to the beachfront at dusk. The views in the soft light across the sea will melt away the stresses and strains.

Massage, facial, body scrub, whatever your preference, we have spa packages that can be pre-booked before travel, with savings on the in-resort prices, leaving you plenty of spending money for a cocktail or two. Treatments can also be booked at the beach club.

  • Stay 3 or 4 nights and get 2 evening meals

It’s club board with an Italian touch at Baia del Mori Beach Club. There's an oven for freshly baked pizza and the restaurant area is large and conveniently placed in the centre of the Beach Club where you’ll be dining al fresco under welcome shade.

On non-inclusive evenings you can eat at the pool bar, join us for a bbq or head out for the night. Take a stroll along the beach and you'll find a couple of bars and restaurants, set amongst the pine trees with views of the bay. Or you can hop in a taxi to Budoni (four kilometres away) where you will find a greater selection of bars and restaurants.

Rooms

The rooms are all on one level, each with a small terrace and set within the shady gardens, dotted with sweet-smelling pine trees. Whether you’re nearer the tennis courts or the pool, it’s only a short walk to the central restaurant and reception area.

Interiors are modern and simply decorated with various layouts depending on your needs. There’s lots of light thanks to glass terrace doors and the rooms have a fresh, clean finish. Choose from twin, double, triple, family and interconnecting rooms. Each room has air conditioning, a mini-fridge, tea and coffee-making facilities, a telephone, TV, safe, beach towels and a hairdryer. There's free Wi-Fi in the public areas and most of the rooms.

Local tourist taxes are payable by you when you check out of Baia dei Mori Beach Club. The charge is up to €2.50 per person per day, with no charge for children under 12 years.

Families and children

The beach is perfect for little ones, with soft sand for building sandcastles and warm shallow water to splash around in. In the heat of the day, the shade of the pine trees makes a perfect world for mini-adventures. We also have a selection of Frog bikes for children from three to fourteen years. These bikes are available to use in and around the beach club grounds, but cannot be taken outside of the beach club.

Make the most of the inclusive Neilson-run children's clubs for 2 to 17-year-olds where you can set your children free with our team of friendly, energetic early years leaders and children's activity leaders. There's also the Starfish crèche for babies up to 23 months old, which is available as a supplement. Make sure your children don't miss out, pre-book before you go to secure a space in the club they want.

If you're travelling with babies or toddlers don't forget to ask about cots, baby baths and pushchairs. For families, there's even a 24-hour baby room, where you can make feeds, warm milk and sterilise bottles.

Short breaks

You can enjoy greater flexibility with a short break of 3 or 4 nights. Perfect if you're short on annual leave, just need a few days away or plan to make the most of a long weekend with days full of sunshine and activities.

Our short breaks depart on a Friday or Monday from London Heathrow, and Saturday or Tuesday from Bristol, Luton or Gatwick.

Flights and transfers are included and once in the resort, our team will meet you with a refreshing drink and details of your welcome meeting. Breakfast and lunch are included every day plus 2 evening meals for 3 or 4-night stays.

Activity sessions can be booked in the welcome meetings, with taster windsurf and dinghy sailing sessions for complete beginners. Kids' clubs are available every day.

Local area

Sardinia feels a little like Italy has taken a holiday. Sitting in the Mediterranean Sea, its sandy beaches, deep turquoise waters and rugged mountainous interior are breathtaking.

If you want to explore, a 15-minute drive south from the beach club is the ancient village of Posada. Set atop a cliff, and adorned with trees, the winding streets offer picturesque scenes at every turn. The 360-degree views from the Castello della Fava at the top of the village are stunning.

A ten minute drive north along the coast and you're in Budoni. This little gem is a popular seaside holiday spot. Most of the restaurants in Budoni are dotted along Strada Statale, the main hub of the town. They specialise in Italian and Sardinian dishes, we recommend the suckling pig and clam spaghetti. Stroll through the buzzing night market to walk off the Mirto (Sardinia's favourite after-dinner drink made from the native flowering Myrtle).
