Exclusively run by our Neilson team in Val d’Isère, Hotel La Tovière simply takes the Mountain Collection to the next level. Effortless style and luxury are combined with our professional ski guiding service and exceptional Neilson hospitality to ensure a truly memorable ski holiday.
Having been entirely rebuilt in 2012 and then completely renovated and redecorated in 2018, the Tovière is a wonderful example of craftsmanship and beautiful design, with the utmost attention to detail having been paid to every element. The enchanting ambience is created by the exquisite natural textures of aged wood, local stone and delightfully soft faux-fur, all beautifully lit, of course.
With a backdrop of snowy trees and towering rock, the hotel seamlessly complements its surroundings right opposite the slopes in the small hamlet of La Daille. The funicular and new La Daille gondola are just across the road from the hotel for high speed access into the heart of the world-class Val d’Isère-Tignes ski area.
The lower ground floor of the hotel is dedicated to wellness. Here you will find not only an indoor swimming pool, but also a sauna, hot tub, steam room and treatment rooms with luxurious Temple Spa products – essential if you’re making the most of the 300km ski area.
For a moment of calm, the hotel’s wood panelled library provides a comfortable sanctuary for an hour or two – particularly savoury when coupled with a glass of wine from the well-stocked bar. With 23 bedrooms and six magnificent suites, Hotel La Tovière is able to accommodate any group’s requirements when it comes to sleeping arrangements.
The myriad of exceptionally well-appointed bedrooms are decorated with care in warm and relaxing tones, while deep mattresses, fluffy throws and luxurious furnishings ensure a very relaxing sleep for all.
After the slopes close for the day, the bar and lounge make the perfect setting to recount your days’ exploits over an expertly mixed cocktail or a well-earned local beer. Guests with children will love the kids’ corner which provides amusement for the whole family with a selection of board games, books and toys.
Once the coffees have been savoured after your fulfilling evening meal, the lively resort of Val d’Isère is a short bus or taxi ride away. Or for those wanting to keep ski legs mobile, it’s a crisp 10 to 15 minute flat walk and an opportunity for some piste-basher spotting on the mountain.
Nearest lift: 120m to Funival funicular and 140m La Daille gondola
Tuition meeting point: 2km. All tuition is with Oxygene Ski School
Equipment hire shop: Equipment hired through Neilson will be delivered, fitted and collected directly at the hotel
Resort centre: 200m to the centre of La Daille or 1.8km to Val d'Isère centre
Ski bus stop: 100m. There is a regular ski bus which runs between La Daille and Val d'Isère centre up until 2am
Many come to Val d'Isère and divide their time between skiing, après and shopping. Its legendary nightlife is both abundant and lively with over 60 bars, restaurants and nightclubs to choose from.
The Val d'Isère - Tignes ski area claims to be one of the best ski areas in the world, and we agree. It offers an enormous variety of cruising runs and some far-reaching off-piste too. Head for ‘La Langue du Glacier' on Grande Motte above Tignes. It's wonderfully scenic without being difficult to ski or board.
Good news for hotel guests is that the old four-person gondola in La Daille has been replaced with 50 new high speed gondolas that can take 10 people each. They've been designed by Pininfarina (as have the likes of Ferraris and Maseratis), so you'll be travelling in speed and style!
With two glaciers in the area (try doing both in a day), you’re guaranteed snow so there’s nothing to stop you covering the miles during the day. Most of Val d’Isère‘s lifts are long and rapid meaning you spend more time actually having fun rather than queuing up!
The resort has spent €16m replacing the old Solaise Express chairlift with a high-speed, 10 person gondola, as well as redeveloping the area at the top of the Solaise with a panoramic restaurant.
If you love shopping, you’ll love it here. There are boutiques, designer outlets and sports shops a plenty. Dine out in the many restaurants and bars or kick back in the hotel after a gorgeous meal before heading out to party the night away.
Or if you’re looking for a bit of rejuvenation, there’s the Centre Aquasportif with a beach world (leisure pool, river currents, water cannons etc), a spa world (saunas, steam baths etc), a sports world (climbing walls, weights room etc) and a wellbeing world for massage and beauty treatments - something for everyone.

The spa and wellness area is quite simply the best in the entire Mountain Collection. From the swimming pool with picture window for a great feeling of space to the huge sauna, steam room and sunken hot tub. For the strong of heart, there's an ice fountain for the ultimate in cardiovascular workouts.
There's no excuse for aching muscles with the extensive selection of professional sports, deep tissue and hot stone massages available to you. Or for a more sublime experience, our trained therapists can help you drift away with an Indian head massage and beauty treatments using Temple Spa products.
Visit the hotel reception for information and prices or take a look at the massage and body treatment menu for some inspiration.
Our half board basis is designed for skiers and boarders. Breakfast is a fairly extensive affair with cooked and continental options every day. Your daily afternoon tea of freshly baked cakes and biscuits will be waiting for you when you come in from the slopes.
Your seven evening meals consist of three-courses with regionally inspired dishes all followed by fresh coffee. You can buy drinks to accompany your meal from the bar.
With an air of sophisticated style, the 29 bedrooms and suites have an uncompromised level of detail, with colours and decoration which beautifully complement each other.
The variety of room choices is extensive to ensure your party is perfectly accommodated. Club, premium, family rooms and suites comfortably sleep between two and four people, while two bedroom suites afford the space required by a larger party of up to six. Some larger suites are split over two floors for an added layer of comfort throughout your stay.
When it comes to room facilities, each has been meticulously well thought out to cater for your needs. All have a balcony with mountain views, ideal for a morning moment of reflection, full ensuite with shower or shower over bath, wc and luxurious Temple Spa toiletries. A flat screen TV has satellite channels and there's also free Wi-Fi, a mini-safe and minibar. Guests in the suites also have a complimentary Nespresso coffee machine.
All hotel guests are free to explore the ski area throughout the week with our Mountain Expert service. Each expert is a professional instructor, local to Val d'Isère. They will run a series of sessions which includes in guided tours of the ski area and coaching sessions, all tailored to the group's ability level.
Designed for confident blue and red-run skiers and snowboarders, they'll show you around the mountain on free guiding sessions, and even offer free coaching sessions to help you become a more confident skier or snowboarder.
There's at least one session a day and we guarantee each guest at least two sessions a week. Your hosts will explain how it works when you get there.
