This is a beautiful, ski-in ski-out hotel. The style is very cool and contemporary yet the atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. Comfort borders on luxury with tastefully matched wood and stone décor and striking wall art inspired by nature throughout.

The hotel is conveniently located alongside the blue run that takes you down to the Pontillas ski lift. That gives you ski-in ski-out convenience yet a quiet location away from the nightlife of Villeneuve, ideal if you're looking for a quiet and leisurely holiday.

The spa here is an absolute treat. There is a charge to use it, but it's well worth it. The very setting it's in is relaxing enough! This should definitely be on your list of places to stay if you can.

About the resort

Serre Chevalier is made up of four separate villages lying in the south-facing valley above the medieval fortress town of Briançon – a World Heritage site. Our accommodation is based in two of them; Chantemerle is traditional with more charm and shops whilst Villeneuve, being more recently built, is ideal for easy mountain access and some lively après ski. There's plenty to do off the slopes including impressive thermal baths at Monêtier.

On the mountain, everything is big. Big terrain and big areas for beginners, intermediates and advanced skiers and snowboarders. Journey between the well-connected pistes linking the four peaks and the numerous tree lined runs threading through pretty larch forests.
The red runs of Chantemerle and Villeneuve offer a real challenge, as well as some serious off-piste expeditions. And don't miss the infamous Rocher de l'Enfer run - you'll need an hour in the hot tub after that thigh burner!

Rest and relaxation

A hotel like this wouldn't be complete without a stunning spa to go with it (the clue is in the hotel name!). The gorgeous Pure Altitude Spa will ensure you relax, unwind and rejuvenate with a selection of massage treatments and facilities like a sauna and hot tub.

It's setting is quite unique; embedded in the rock that the hotel sits on. You really do feel at one with the earth! The entry fee is approx. €10 per person per session, or free when a treatment is purchased.

Food and drink

The half board here is a real joy. The chefs are notoriously inventive and have a reputation for producing excellent cuisine.

Breakfast is a generous continental buffet and your three-course evening meal has a choice of starter, main and dessert. After your delicious dinner, head to the laid-back bar to enjoy a drink in the lounge bar by the fire.

All 61 rooms are modern, spacious and very comfortable. Each has a flat-screen TV, mini-safe, coffee machine, mini-bar, hairdryer and ensuite bathroom with bath or shower.

Standard and superior rooms are available, the main difference being the superior rooms have a spa bath.
